Every AMT 30's kit that had a modern motor had a SV trans behind it. Amazing really as they weren't that strong but here were a lot of adaptors available back in the day 1

bill-e-boy Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I have brought the build to the front of the bench. The local club has a Road and Track theme this month so let's see if I can get it over the line The body has been sitting for a while and the paint should be good and hard so I started to get some shine on it. Typical of pearl paints - they don't photograph well and look better in daylight in the flesh The interior needed some little thing that needed attending to so I did that too Got the floor board glued into place. The dog is supervising the job 5

Before Revell offered the Deuce Sedan the only other model out there was the Orange Crate! A conversation with Norm Verber over at Replicas and Miniature of Maryland lead me to create a master from the Revell kit for a chopped Tudor Sedan body that would fit the '32 Ford Three Window Coupe kit: This is how it set mocked up back in 2015: ...and it hasn't been touched since! Might be a fair place to start?!. Several years ago, RRR had a very close friend that did some painting for us, and he started a deuce sedan build and never got to finish it. (Sad story... I'll let @Rocking Rodney Rat share it) Anyway, RRR sent me the already chopped sedan body: This was 2013 and a year later the Gangster was completed: That’s beautiful!!!! 1 1
bill-e-boy Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Well I missed the deadline for the meeting theme due to work. What a dirty four letter word that is. Any way moving onwards toward getting it done Got the fenders glued up. I had pinned them when I was fitting them up during construction and this has payed off when gluing them to the Vickie chassis. The white bare plastic showing on the floor boards are where I had to some relief work to get the body to fit the frame. A typical issue when kit bashing Not happy with the paint finish on the driver side running board - not sure of a fix but most probably hit it with some flat clear - Oh dear!!! I glued the interior into the body - my you have to hold your mouth the right way to get these in. There is no registration lips or protrusions to locate the body when inserted so some electrical tape to the rescue to hold it in position will the epoxy glue cured. It is sitting on my 5W coupe chassis and it sits a bit high due to the additional reveal line and the rear of the body After the trimming of the floorboard got the body to finally fit the chassis and epoxied into place Still a few more bits n bobs to get out of the way but getting there Thanks for looking 5
FoMoCo66 Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Nice work! Just thought that I would post some of my progress. Made some custom headers from paint brush ferrules and PLA filliment. I also got the intake finished up, distributor wired, and brackets made for the compressor and alternator. Really like the way it is coming along. (Air cleaners moched-up, I know there not straight) I also decided on tamiya ts-60 and its coming in the mail from Hobby Nut Models (along with tamiya gloss clear). This is my first time using tamiya spray and I've heard nothing but good (nock on wood). Thanks for looking! Elliot 6
bill-e-boy Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Looking good. Had not thought to use PLA filament for models - don't have any so thought never entered my mind. TS 60 is a good colour choice - very similar to the colour I have used on my 32 5W build - 2

In retrospect straight up styrene would work way better but I have a FDM 3d printer and decided to give it a shot. It's pretty hard to bend without heat and has little lines in it, but it was an experiment. 1
carnut Posted June 27 Posted June 27 (edited) Well things are moving along nicely now and I realized that it is time for me to finish up the bodywork on the 32 Tudor. I took a queue from Kit Karson and added a last minute change to make it my own. Now it’s time to break out the 3M glazing putty and cleanup the bodywork and such. Thanks for looking, cheers Edited June 27 by carnut 5
bill-e-boy Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Looking good Michael. The recessed plate breaks up a rather large expansive area - I should have done it on my build but I figured I had enough going on at the back with the wiggly rear end and tubbed fenders 1
Kit Karson Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Glad to see those of you that continue with their progress on their Deuce Sedan builds! The '32 Ford Chauffeur Driven Town Sedan continues to rest peacefully on my bench! -KK 3
bill-e-boy Posted June 28 Posted June 28 I am calling this done - off to Under Glass Been a cool time contributing to this thread - I've had a ball building, watching and interacting with all like minded people 10
FoMoCo66 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Last update before its done! Got the frame assembled and painted in ts-60 and a coat of tamiya clear. The body is also painted with ts-60 and 3 coats of tamiya clear. I also got the engine all wrapped up with plug wires, paint, and assembly. Look forward for the finished model! FoMoCo66 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Just got the 32 wrapped up, really happy with it. More pictures in under glass and the group build completion page. 10
Kit Karson Posted July 4 Posted July 4 (edited) Got a little time at the bench on the '32 Ford Chauffeured Town Sedan Flathead Tri-Power: Added linkage... ...and fuel lines! -KK Edited July 4 by Kit Karson delete a picture & add a picture 7
carnut Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Greetings all, here’s my update on my 32 Tudor: I did a mock up of everything this morning as you can see from the first photo and after all the work I did on the frame, I still had the rear end sitting too high. So I got it adjusted down better in the second photo. The third photo shows what I did to the rear end to get it to sit down more, I am using the kit 9 inch Ford rear end. The last photo shows the modifications I had to make to the grill shell. The radiator shell on the left is the stock one. The modified radiator shell is on the right. it looks like I am now just about ready to start priming and painting. Keep smiling and thanks for looking. 6

Must remember this Thanks Bill for the compliment, I have to keep reminding myself of this also all the time, continuous mocking things up to recheck certainly helps in this area. Ha ha ha ha. Here’s a bit of an update. I am slowly moving my way hopefully soon into the paint booth for one last shot of primer and then into color. Things are coming along nicely. Thanks for looking and keep smiling. Edited July 13 by carnut 3
carnut Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I am really liking the builds on this thread. Keep up the fine work y’all 3
Kit Karson Posted Sunday at 07:31 PM Posted Sunday at 07:31 PM If you haven't checked out the main '32 Ford Chauffeured Town Sedan thread here's the latest update: Had to establish the position of the heads by hooking up the hoses to the radiator... Then finished up wiring the plugs! -KK 3
