The shot they gave me made everything seem a little blurry and my chest felt like it would explode. I just sat down in the chair and told them I needed the shot to stop it. I was very close to blacking out and my chest hurt for the rest of the day. The whole thing didn't really last all that long after the first shot. My heart started beating very hard to the point of hurting almost right away, which has often made me question if I was given to much of whatever is in it. I had discussed these problems with my Cardio. Doctor and that is why he reluctantly OK'd the tread mill. With the tread mill they have a spotter standing behind me in case I were to trip or fall while a Nurse is monitoring my vitals. The tread mill lasts until my heart reaches a number they are looking for or until I cry uncle which ever happens first.  Then they put me on the sled and run me through the ring to do a Cat Scan.

Sounds very disturbing and unpleasant..

Mine lasted only 2 minutes, but scary as it gets. I was told that the erratic heart beat was normal for the test.

I was okay to drive home... had a beer immediately after and lunch at Taco Bell.

So Thursday I was wrapped up changing my pool filter motor, only 3 trips to the pool store. Finalized the interior plans for my '66 Belair. Saturday my son came over and we trimmed 2 big limbs off a maple tree. I'm getting a shed and needed more clearance. By 10... hot and sticky. Really more than what I should have been doing. After that we hit the pool and cooled off.

Just turned 78 and feel pretty good but the angina has started.  Not related to exercise though.  Another doctor's appointment Tuesday.

I had angina attacks for 3-4 years leading up to my HA. I had it pegged for something related to my back injury since I had no pain up front and it was on my right side. Towards the end they were coming closer and closer together. I could be doing nothing, getting ready for work, watching TV, once while shopping at Ace Hardware. It stopped me in my tracks and it would pass in a couple of minutes.

My brother had a stent done when he was 41, it got him another 24 years and he was having chest pains while on his road bike. So last year they took out the old stent and put in 2 new ones. He is fine now. I likely may need a stent or it may be time to fix the bad valve.

Anything too do with the heart scares me..

I had an irregular heart beat since around 1987. I attributed it to the use of "certain substances" which I stopped doing. I had an AFIB event at my heart doctor, he previously said I had a valve issue, which shows up on ultrasound tests. So I had an ablation done and it was good for a solid 8 months, I may need another one.

But I continue what I need to do. The pool filter motor swap from Thursday is going strong. Saturday morning my son came over (was hot by then...) and we removed 2 maple tree limbs that would be in the way of the shed I have to order. One was close to 5", the other maybe was 3". We had the whole thing done in an hour flat including clean up. The kid knows how to work.

Sunday I was outside by 6:30 taking pinstripe tape off my Belair. It was cloudy and cool. Then the sun came out, so I retreated inside with the AC and even took a snooze. I'm always up between 5-6 every morning. I went out again after 2, the driveway is in shade by then. I removed the seats from the Belair, I'm having then done over and will drop them off today.

It was a real dog of a job, I found that taking off the sill plates and peeling back the carpet makes it a ton easier. I called my buddy down the block to help me load everything into my Equinox. I had everything put away by 6 and headed inside, by 8:30 the TV was watching me. I woke up at 11:45 and formally went up to bed and the cat followed me.

I get the results of the stress test tomorrow. Saw my pain management doc yesterday, whizzed in a cup... every 6 months. Didn't kill myself yesterday and will take a few days of taking it easier. I'll clean up the interior on the Belair, I have to go out while the driveway is still in shade.

So I go for an angiogram on 7/18. My heart doctor will be doing it at a hospital that does my infusions. The place where I had my bypass is under construction and is chaotic. There are 2 areas with poor blood supply, so I'm in the market for stents. The bypass areas are doing well, those are fine.

I had blood work done too, he even took me off Lipitor. That went from 20 mg to 10 and now I am off it. I hope to have my Belair interior back together before that.

Hey Bob, how'd the stress test results come out? OK I hope.

Had the 50,00 mile checkup yesterday, aced the tread mill without the enhancement shot to get the heart going. The Echocardiogram looks good, and I could hear a steady heartbeat at times from the machine. Now if the Cardiologist will just back off some of the blood pressure meds so I don't fall asleep every time I sit down.

It showed 2 areas of limited blood flow, new areas. The bypassed parts are still good. I feel okay, but can no longer get by with 5-6 hours of sleep. I do get my 8 if the cat lets me. He likes to sit in the window and howl at things outside at 5 AM...

So I'll probably get a stent or 2. I've been with this heart doctor since 2016, he made the right call when I coded in the ER back then. My brother had 2 stents done last year and he is fine. I was waned after the bypass to avoid temperature extremes. I definitely do not feel good in very hot weather.

Ditto on the heat. When

I was a younger guy I could go out in 30 degrees in a t-shirt and in the summer heat didn't bother me, but no longer on either.

The heat just drains me.

You guy hand on there and have a great day?

Funny, I'm more tolerant of cold weather now. I can work outside when it is 45 in a t-shirt and no jacket. I did work outside for a long enough time, I never got used to working inside.

The procedure is now changed to the 23rd.... gives me more time to work on the Belair.

Honestly wishing the work on both you and the Belair goes according to plan, and that you'll each have many more trouble-free miles ahead of you. :D

"Veteran" can just as well apply to someone who spent his entire time in walking the colonel's dog and picking up his cleaning as someone who's been tested in combat.

Happy Fourth, boys and girls geezers and geezerettes.  :D

Thanks gents. I think I will be okay, the heart doctor has taken a good interest with me, since he helped bring me literally from the dead in 2016. He calls me one of his miracle babies...

Getting the Belair and what I'm doing around the house and yard is great for me. I finally got past my lower back pain that plagued me from March to May. I had to walk around the house holding onto furniture and counter tops on the bad days of it. I feel a lot stronger than I have in a long time. I got badly hurt by a chiropractor in 2021, that took a long time to heal.

Yup, been there multiple times.

Glad you're getting stronger, feeling better.

Yep, glad you're doing better. I have had lower back issues tho not serious just minor pain and weakness. I have found back exercise daily definitely helps but I'm too d@mn lazy.

I finally made an appointment with hand Doc for my carpel tunnel and arthritis. Not sure what to expect but I know I don't want surgery.

I broke my left thumb a couple of times years ago. For the past 10 years it has been hurting. I have carpal tunnel too. I really should wait for fall or just after Xmas to get it fixed. Arthritis for sure. I have taken another stance on surgery as I get older, I'm not as afraid of it.0

I'm not huge on stretching and yoga was suggested. The pool is an immense help it seems.

So Bob, what do you do for your carpel?     I was having the intense pain attacks during the night even when wearing the brace.  I recently got a thumb brace that has a part that wraps around my wrist.  It's copper infused.  Since I started using it I seldom get the bad attacks but I do still have the tingling fingers .

I'm not doing anything about it, I had some CBD cream that gave me some relief. Now my RIGHT thumb is sore, I've been on a tear with working on the Belair. I just finished scraping all the drip-rail caulk out and applying new stuff. A fairly awkward position working that high up for hours.

Day time, little tingling, I get that mostly at night. It does go away fast when I wake up.

I broke my thumb years ago, (motorcycle mishap) was not treated. Acts up now and again like a dull ache, sometimes cramps up. CBD cream and or oil has been my friend...
