DJMar Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Just sort of an FYI, I found this pic. I'm pretty sure that's the top separation line, similar to the AMT kit. 1

I really like this body style but I hate the two piece body. Wonder if the Monogram 36 kit is a two piece body? Could always start with a resin chopped top body that is cast as one piece. There have been a couple casters through the years that offered it that way.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think Monogram originally issued that kit as the coupe & convertible in one box, and later re-pops of the coupe came with the two-piece body. He is correct. All the 1930's "Turret Top" Fords, were done in two parts when in model Form. Draft angles on the tops made it necessary. Unless you look at 1/32 scale kits, the the body was done in left/right halves.

Zippi Posted July 1, 2024 Author Posted July 1, 2024 Not much progress. Did a little interior work, got the first coat of Tamiya Rubber Black on the running boards and the roof insert, and also got the headlights together and installed. 7
Zippi Posted July 8, 2024 Author Posted July 8, 2024 Just a little more touch up and I'm ready to assemble this one and get it finished out. I gotta tell ya....this AMT kit is not the quality of the Revell kit IMO. 3
Steve H Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Looking good Bob! I really like the wheel colour, works well with the body colour. ??

bobss396 Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Now I recall, my dad had one started. The OG 1961 issue, he got maybe 1/2 way done with it. The car is long gone, but I still have the box.
