JimmyRiggins Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Hello everyone My name is Sunny I’ve been building models for years, and have been a frequent visitor of this site for some time. I’ve decided that it’s time to become a member. I build a little bit of everything, but my main focus is 50s/60s cars, hot rods, and 90s Japanese cars. I’ve appreciated this site for the wealth of knowledge and inspiration it provides; as well as the community that exists here. It’s time that I add my inputs to the group where I can. Cheers!
JimmyRiggins Posted July 2, 2024 Author Posted July 2, 2024 Thanks Slusher! While I was browsing, I saw that you’re in the running for the cannonball run build (love that idea for a community build theme)! I like your car of choice, and I’m excited to see what you’ll do with it!

And I’m looking forward to seeing your progress on your 41 gasser!! I’ve always had a thing for gassers, and that custom flathead, detailed suspension and that transmission have my eyes locked in on that build! cheers!

happy grumpy Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Welcome to the forum Sunny, looking forward to see your work.

Jimmy, The car in my profile pic is a rendering of the 2018 NSRA Giveaway Car, a '32 Ford Victoria Hot Rod built by WayCool Customs in Pittsfield, Il. I saw the rendering back then and followed the build progress on the internet. I plan to build a 1:25 scale depiction of it, but haven't started that yet...
stavanzer Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 Welcome to our Happy Band of Model Car Crazy, Builders, Sunny! Glad to have you. I Like Pre-WWII Cars, 4x4's and MOPAR Muscle Cars. You'll fit right in around here. I'm very glad you joined.

I’m liking the work you’re doing with ‘modified’ track cars! Im going to be anticipating seeing you build the 32 Tudor you were referencing in the Tudor thread! Awesome looking car, and an awesome looking model to be in sure!

I have a lot of models I know someone else would do a better job at than I would. (Usually those ones were bought exclusively for parts) If you ever need parts for a build, let me know I’ll see if I can help!

I appreciate the welcome Stavanzer! it’s nice to have a place to talk shop and get creative with like interested people! I don’t know too many model builders near me, and the local hobby shop went away a few years back (that was a sad day when I found out it wasn’t going to make it!). I didn’t have any luck finding any of your builds yet but I’ll look for them! I can definitely dig your preferences for car categories! I saw in your profile that you’re an Air Force vet, I’ll bet you have some interesting stories! Always thought that was a cool job! p.s. I thought I’d share a 4x4 you may like, I saw it at a big auto show a while back. Edited July 6, 2024 by JimmyRiggins 1

I’ve gathered you’re into slammed/ channeled hot rods, I really like where you’re going with your ‘dahmer’ build! You reminded me that I have a channeled deuce coupe I want to dig out and get back to!
