Looking good so far. These are very well wngineered kits that have almost zero fitting issues, so I don't understand why would they be considered difficult. In my opinion kits that are far less complicated but poorly engineered with iffy fitment and vague instructions are way harder to build with good results.

Aligning things along with very tiny and brittle bits is what makes it difficult to build. I'm not THAT experienced in building model cars so theres still alot of trial and error. The intake manifold itself consists of 14 parts that needs to align with the intake pipes (which consist of 8 different parts that needs to align with the exhaust - which is another 8 parts etc). So its a constant battle of aligning tiny parts. But im getting there :D

I AM pretty experienced in building cars, and the Fujimi 288 GTO remains the most difficult kit I’ve ever built. @Simo5555 is doing a great job. But the whole back end around the engine requires dozens of parts to be joined together often with tiny pips or no locating mechanism at all, sometimes in sequences of multiple parts that have two well defined endpoints with nothing in between (I’m looking at you, exhausts, turbos and manifolds…). The suspension that the engine plumbing has to fit round and through is equally complex and multipart, and at the end of assembly all four wheels have to end up on the ground even in spite of the fact that nothing’s weight-bearing until it’s all assembled and the glue is set.

Very good work going on here!

best,

M.

Done! ? Can't believe i was able to finish it! This was my third attempt and oh boy was it a challence. Definitely dont try it as your first model (or second, or third......... or forth). Dont get me wrong, its a good model - just insanely frustrating to build. Did some mistakes and things i'm not happy about, but finishing it is an achievement. So im really happy!

Will definitely try to build it again at some point....just not anytime soon ?

Beautiful! I really like the 288. Ferrari kind of messed up their marking a little. The 288 came out then the f-40 came out soon after. So the f-40 was in the limelight and put the 288 on the back burner. I always thought the 288 was a better looking car and it’s a much better GT car. F-40 does not even have an interior. But it’s still very fast. And still good looking. Love your build.
