Since the weather is not cooperating so I can paint my 41 Willy's I decided to go ahead and open this one up and pull out all the 3D printed parts I bought for it some time back.  The chassis is the V1 Universal Drop kit from the Iceman, the 427 Cobra engine is from Texas 3D Customs, and the Cobra 21/20 inch wheels & tires are from Jay's.

That's a lot of resin!

Can't wait to see what you do with this one.

You know what...that's is a lot of resin.  Well, it'll paint up just like plastic.  I'm still in the thinking mode.

Looking forward to following your progress on this build, Bob. Great imagination in your mods to this ancient and mediocre kit!...

Thank's Tim.  I like the old Monogram kits and the 1/24 scale.

Bob, your ready with another killer build!

Well...I appreciate it Carl.  We'll see what I can do with it.

I worked on the Iceman drop chassis this morning.  I set up the kit body and running boards and got my wheel base dimension.  I then set up the drop chassis and transferred the wheel base dimension and cut it to length.  I glued it together with 5 min epoxy.  The chassis will need another modification to fit under the kit body.

I do as well. Reminds me of simpler times.

Also, that chassis looks killer. I've seen those on Iceman's site but have never pulled the trigger.

Nice project!

For the chassis, I bought a printable file for a similar one but 3 piece for a project I'm planning.
The center section is square like yours and I designed and printed one that narrows to fit the angular body of the F-100. How do you plan to make yours fit? Grinding/sanding?

Thank's DJ.  Still have some work to do on it.

That chassis looks pretty kewl there Dennis.  I'll need to think about how I want to make it fit but shouldn't be to hard.  Just need to get back on it.  Still trying to finish up my 41 Willy's Gasser.

I agree. The rails on yours seem a tad wider. I was afraid that if I ground it to match there wouldn't be much "meat" left.

I got the hole cut in the bed and got the chassis rough cut and in place.  I may add one more brace and it still needs some clean up.

Ok...the 41 Willy's is completed so now on to this build.  I have everything cleaned up and looking pretty good.  I cut the resin suspension from the tree and checked the fit on the chassis and all looks good.  I'm not going to cut anymore on the chassis or the bed until I get a little further along in the build.  I could end up taking to much off.  I've laid everything out and trying to get a picture of just how I want to proceed on this one.  Nothing is coming to mind just yet.

Looking good! That chassis looks like it fits in there really well.

Are you thinking about creating a tonneau cover, or boxing in the cut out for the frame & rear suspension?

Thanks DJ.  I really don't know just what I'm going to do just yet.  Not going to be out in the garage much this week as the heat index is going to be well over 100 and the humidity is terrible.

Yup.  AC is feeling pretty good right now but I'll be back at it shortly.
