iBorg Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Take a look at this: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/amt-9203-700-mckee-engineering-special--1184565 Would love to see this reissued.
iBorg Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 And this: https://www.allpar.com/d3/history/mopar/mckee-v-special15.html
Bainford Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Interesting that the sheet has decals advertising both Mopar parts and Chevy parts.
gtx6970 Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 Cool. Never would have guessed that. Many thanks
Mark Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 The description of the slot car kit includes "vacuformed"...probably the body. AMT did do three or four similar slot car kits in 1/25 scale, with injection molded styrene bodies. And there were shelf versions of them too, with plastic tires and curbside chassis. But the McKee wasn't one of them, unfortunately.
rattle can man Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 I suppose the Chevy decals are for the corvette parts of the front suspension and perhaps where they sourced the Borg-Warner T-10 from.
Can-Con Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 This? https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vtg-32-scale-amt-100-503-mckee-1781231247 BTW, I originally posted this Sunday afternoon, don't know what happened to the post. It seems to have completely disappeared.
