Thanks!

I did a WIP for the Polar Lights issue back in 2017 which shows the basic interior and some of the upgrades I made.

There's a world of difference between the Aoshima and Polar Lights versions.

Let me know what you think Bill.

Awesome, thanks for the link! Somehow many of these threads get lost in the shuffle of the forum, so it's nice to be reminded of them. Really like your interior mods, though I also appreciate the warning about masking the body.

Thanks for the feedback Bill, I'm glad you found it useful.

UPDATE!

First, after trying a few options, I decided to use decals to knock down the extra bright, extra clear headlight lenses and make them look more like the sealed beam units used at the time.  Here's a comparison, the original lens on the outside and the new lens by the grille:

While I was fiddling with it, I also made a new license plate (the one in the kit just didn't look right) and painted up the camera, remote control unit, and flame trail acccessories that were included in the kit:

Thanks! I wasn't sure about the flames out of the box, but I have to admit once they're painted they're a fun accessory.

I wonder if there's some way they could be lighted.

I seem to remember a lighting material from my model railroad days that was used to make scale lighted signs. It was very thin, like a plastic mat or film. It came in a variety of colors and could be cut to shape and would glow when voltage was applied. I just did a quick search but I was unsuccessful because I couldn't remember what it was called and I apparently describe it well enough for the Google Machine to read my mind.

Just a thought.

EL wire might be an option, especially for making a diorama out of it. Doing that really deserves a full lighting kit for the car, too...and down the rabbit hole we go!

Yeah, it's a danger I'm well acquainted with.
