Tamiya has an LP-48 Sparkling Silver that might work as a base.

I think this is the way to go, though adding some non-transparent red might work too.

Tangerines in the wild have a reddish cast.

If all else fails, I was happy with the results of using Tamiya Metallic Orange out of the rattle can on my build.
