Mark W Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Hello all, new to the group and hope I can be an asset. I do have a question. I just painted a 1966 Fairlane with MCW lacquer. I wish to add a clear coat, but I need to wet sand first. Is there a time period that you can put the clear on. I know when using Tamiya ts paint, the color needs to cure for a week because of the different formula of their clear. I will be sanding tomorrow (24 hours after color) Can I clear it then?

Expand Welcome to the forum. I'm just seeing this. The question would have been better asked in the Model Q&A. What did you wind up doing? Typically Laquer doesn't take that long to cure. I've cleared MCW laquer after a couple of days.
