Back in high school a buddy got a 62 Chev impala convertible, always admired the look. I got this kit probably 20yrs ago and finally decided to build it, but I wanted to have a full top for it.  Thanks to Mike1017 I got a another 53 Ford conv top and I used the two tops to make one fit the 62 Chevy. Used some thin cellophane to make the rear window so it looked more realistic.  This was my first time trying BMF for part of the trim/badges, and you guys are right. It did better than the HVAC tape I normally use for the details. These old hands and eyes aren't as good as they used to be, so detailing the red/white/blue on the hubcap spinners was a fun challenge (but turned out well). The same goes for the interior chrome trim which was done with 2mm molotow. I used the tail lights for another build, so I made replacements from the little tabs/beads on clear and red sprues.  The grille was blacked out with my favorite paint tool, a toothpick.  One of these days I finally figure out how to get a great paint job, the Lord willing. I figure this should bring back some memories for a lot of you. Thanks for looking and comments welcome.

The cellophane even has the wavey effect in the top

I think it looks amazing! Black is the most difficult color to get right (I used to have a hard time with white too, though). Don't sell yourself short on building a fine looking Impala!

The '62 409 anything let alone a convertible was special. Great looking body color and finish and the contrasting interior go well together. I like the rear window idea for the top.

That’s certainly a sweet looking Impala. Nice work splicing the two convertible tops together to make the one, looks seamless. ??
