the60falcon Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Did this to replicate a car my dad's best friend had. Unfortunately my attempt at the stripe decals didn't cooperate with the L-88 hood. maybe in the future I'll try again, added embossing powder for carpet as I do on most of my builds, fuel lines, plug wires etc. Lots of trimming to the dash and glass to get a proper fitment. I also took some time to make the grille fit the opening a little better. This kit is a little tough but with some work and patience they turn out okay, there's some things I'd have done differently now, but live and learn. My vinyl tops are always done with rustoleum textured paint, shown is the Camaro with my fleet of vinyl top cars, funny enough they're all Chevy's and I'm a Ford guy! 12
TransAmMike Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Great job Cody and great looking Camaro. Really nice work on the top. What did you use for the "seams"? 1
STU111 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Top job, that vinyl roof looks great! I’ve built the full bumper Camaro myself and this kit does throw up a couple of challenges, but can be made to look great, and your build is proof of that. ?? 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Beautiful job on the vinyl top. The build has a great original look to it. Nicely done. 1

espo Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Beautiful looking paint color and finish, the vinyl roof finish looks great. Great looking engine and chassis details. Like the interior. 1
Monty Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Nice build! Thanks for tipping us off to the textured paint for vinyl roofs. That's gonna help a lot of people here. May I ask whose gold paint you used? (ex: Model Master #1614) Also, if memory serves, this kit doesn't come with poseable front wheels/tires but your pics show that you pulled it off. Can you give me the basics of how to do that? Thanks! 1

Thanks! Hey Monty! Please don't quote me but it was one of the testors xtreme lacquer golds. I'd have to check when I get home,as they make 2 different ones. And if I remember correctly I just glued the spindles in a position I liked them in. I think it adds some visual interest! Appreciate the kind words.
XYHARRY Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Very nice Camaro, your detail work is exceptional. Well done Cody. Cheers, David. ??
