DRIPTROIT 71 Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 This is the cab from Too Many Projects, the 427 engine is from the Baldwin Motion Camaro. It isn’t a tall deck, but it wouldn’t be noticeable in scale. I don’t think that I am going to open the hood anyway. The Road Boss will be donating the chassis. Here is the inspiration picture. It was on Facebook. 6

Biggu Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Sweet ….. I learned how to double clutch and split shift on one of these, a sweet little truck, absolutely love these trucks …

I’m guessing that the 5&4 set up out of the W900 KW from AMT wouldn’t be accurate or would it? I had almost resigned myself to the bland generic transmission out of one of the snap kits. 1
Gary Chastain Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Did not know this cab was being produced anywhere. Cool project, will be following along. 1
Warren D Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Interesting build, it almost looks like it's got Brockway style fuel tanks. 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted November 22, 2024 Author Posted November 22, 2024 Thanks Warren. I’m not building an exact replica of the picture, so I’m not sure what tanks I will use yet. It will probably come down to what I can find in my parts box.😀 1
Rockford Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 A very novel project. Glad i don't have to fuel it! 2
Old Buckaroo Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 This will be a very fun project to watch. I'll see if I can find that box of resin parts this weekend - I still may have some of those tanks. Too bad Terry doesn't post here anymore , he casted a lot of those tanks. What is the engine in the background for ??? 1

vincen47 Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 This will be a fun one to watch. A unique project. Not sure if I’ve seen one of these in model form. 1

Yes you could put the KW one in there or if your just going curb side it I would just put 2 sticks in there. Just make sure one is behind the other. The Auxiliary shifter goes in between the two seats. You can use the seats out of the Chevy Blazer or the GMC Jimmy or the Astro to get pretty correct. Hope this helps 1
BK9300 Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Not familiar with this type of truck, but looking forward to how you put it together. 1

I could imagine pulling that Reefer what it did. I bet after pulling a long hill those manifolds were Cherry Red when he got to the top. 😂 1

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 Thanks for all of the comments guys! Starting to mock up this one. 5
Jürgen M. Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Looks nice! Very special build! Is that the sleeper of the AMT White Western Star? Or is that in other kits too? 1

Jürgen M. Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Thought so! Looked familiar! I still have that one in my parts box! The cabs are also the same in the White Western Star, Autocar A64B and Road Boss! Probably in a few other kits too! I built the Brockway (Convoy) from the AMT Autocar Kit and the Diamond T (also Convoy) from the AMT Coca Cola Western Star kit. Absolutely same cab! 1

The cab is made by the Corporation cab company they made many cabs for various truck manufacturers. I found this out when I restored my real Autocar Truck about 30 years ago. Jürgen M. Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Thanks for the information! Always interesting to learn these things! 1
Jürgen M. Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Nice build! Does that truck belong to the class 8 category? Just asking cause of the 40' reefer! Looks so huge compared to the tractor! 1
