Was trying to trade it off but could not find anything iinteresting.

Then the wife told me I was too chicken to try it myself, so here it goes!

Lot of cleanup to do on the cab. Too thick on one side near the windows and rough around the quarter windows.

Also the roof is a bit thin in an area.

Don't know what to do there yet.

Interior is coming together with more period seats. Also inner door panels from altered L700 kit which is the donor.

Also made some front suspension adjustments.

I am going to use the tank trailer from the latest L700 kit.

Looks like I’m the first one in the front row for this one, Johnny….  These old Whites are really cool.  Looking forward to watching this come together …..

I used the L700 frame too. I had to lower the rear springs and block up the front for a good convincing stance. I also cut down the L700 interior and used it

I built that cab into a custom pickup and had a ball putting it together, however I acknowledge the issues with it except the thin roof.
Also take a look at the front window fit. I found the need to grind more clearance at the A pillars to make it flat. Also the rear. and rear side windows needed some clearancing.
Looks like you have the makings of a great build. Keep at it, and good luck!

Have fun, I did this conversion several years ago.  What I remember most was not liking the way the stock chassis sits, the back end is too high, just doesn't look right.  I ended up lower the back suspension a bit and I may have raised the front a tad as well.  It still doesn't sit level, has a bit of front rake, but I think it looks better.

Chassis and wheels and tires done.

Working on interior and trying to figure out an engine for it.

Will be at a stand still soon waiting for warm weather to paint.

I did exactly the same conversion myself, a couple of years ago! I've always loved those round-front White 3000s. It worked well with the Dodge L700 frame and interior; the interior required some surgery, of course, but it worked. The only thing I would do different now is to center the smaller lights over the headlights instead of to the side- that's one detail that JF got wrong. I built it as a curbside model, so I didn't worry about the engine!

Gone as far as I can until warm weather to do the cab.

Modeled the engine after the REO gas V8 that was available at the time.

Ganges could have been better. Just copied from the 60 Impala sheet on paper and glued to dash.

I remember working on those White Compacts when I was in my 20's ,,some had the 6cyl White Mustang gas engine and a few had C160 and C180 Cummins. That build is looking great!

This is Cool! I've not dealt with a resin body. Are they hard to work with? I have a few in the stash, but uncertainty has kept them off the bench.

This is my first resin body conversion. Like you was unsure (still am) so much so I originally tried to trade it off.

Needs a lot of cleanup yet and I still need to do a bit of research on working with a resin body.
