Hello all.

Hope all are well. I just scored a 2008 Stevens International Mack Cruiseliner on Ebay for a good price. Should be here late this coming week. So the Winter should be fun one between a few projects. That being said I am going to be doing some extensive research on colors, liveries, and of course would like to see some others finished projects. Build advice on what to expect also would be appreciated. Thank you.

This will be a cool build. I know CTM makes a real good photo etch upgrade set and well worth the money, just in case you really want to kick it up a notch. I will watch with great interest.

Wow, can't wait to see that one!

Since theres no pic yet I have to ask this a bit embarassing question:

I know of course what a Mack Cruiserliner is, I've got two of them but what is a Stevens International Mack Cruiserliner?

Did I miss something?

Jurgen,

Good day hope all is well. Stevens International is what I believe is known as AAA Hobbies. It's an AMT Cruiseliner Re-Pop from 2008.

Which is a re-pop from AMT (and briefly Matchbox) from around ... 1977 or 1978, if I recall correctly.   Still - a great kit to spend time on this winter.  Looking forward to seeing your progress.

I would like to do this stripe scheme. The stripe set is available on the Model Truckers LLC (formerly Jerry Reeters Model Trucking) site. Thinking 2 tone in Blue, or Green.

Oh, OK! Thanks!

I thought it was a newer variation of a Cruiserliner I didn't know! 😂

As far as I know it was only built till 83 or so!

Again I learned something! I'll have to check it out!

I just acquired the Matchbox version of this kit, I will be watching your build for tips.

Gary,

This project is going to be on hold. The kit I received is missing a good number of parts such as rear axles, the axle carriers, and the intercooler pieces. It will be returned probably later this week. I will be on the hunt for a replacement probably after the Holidays. Have a great day.

Kind regards,

Jersee Jerry

Jerry, I am not a cab over guy, I picked the Matchbox version up in a group buy, if you want it for a replacement, let me know.

Gary,

Hello. That's awfully kind of you. However I have two  AMT Transtar 4070A's (one started, one not) ahead of any future projects, and an AMT KW Alaskan Hauler kit slightly started (cab primed, hood primed, frame some. Although not sure if I am going to build the Alaskan Hauler, or not. I actually may look to move it down the line in a trade. So I am at an impasse with that.

This was always my favorite paint scheme on the Cruise Liners

Well, you know where one is located now. If you change your mind.

I bought 2 at Hobby Lobby

I have about 3 or 4 Hobby Lobby's within about a 35 to 40 mile radius of me. They are hit or miss on kits like the Cruiseliner, KW W925, or the Autocar Dump Truck.

Jerry make sure you check the front axle height before installing the front axle you may have to shim it up a bit also adding the steering box was tricky for me but I figured it out the instructions are kinda vague on this. Last I would test fit the cab height also go ahead and add your bracelets to the rear to do this and the cab. That’s  all I got so far it’s a nice kit to build goes together easy.

I just call them to see if they have the kit I want then ask them to take it to the front for pickup they have no problem with that. I live in the country so I don’t want to waste a trip into town if they don’t have what I want.

His decals are very nice and he ships fast and gives you a tracking number and gives updates on your order. He’s very professional and I’ve already have a second order coming from him.

So here I now stand with 2 Cruiseliner's (I got the second one from Gary Chastain), and an upcoming  typical Southern New Jersey Winter ahead of me. Frankly not the recipe for the lack of clear, concise, decision making that I usually (regretfully) exemplify. So here goes nothing. The engine, frame, and drivetrain are in line to be completed. Could use advice from those who have built the kit before. Specifically on the trunnion and getting it to line up properly. Colors should be relatively easy. I'm choosing from all colors currently found in the spectrum. That being said I am actually looking forward to attempting the build

Picked up some paint today @ Hobby Lobby. Krylon Short Cuts. Got Sun Yellow, Gloss White, and Gold (for the engine). So now for the scheme. Thinking about the following:

White cab, Yellow Frame, and Model Truckers LLC Mack Stripes set # MK101 (Yellow, Orange, Black outline).

Sounds good I like it going to look like a Monfort Circus Mack

Could use some tips on building the frame up specifically the trunnion, suspension area to get it even. When I attempted the same thing on the R885ST kit it was completely a failure. As always help is much appreciated.
