Lyle Willits Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Harry Charon, who passed away in March of 2008, was one of the premier replica stock builders in our club. I believe if he was still with us, this is what he would have done with a Revell 150 (Black Widow) kit. Thanks for looking.
RodBurNeR Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Gorgeous conversion Lyle, I bet he would be drooling over it.
Randy Kern Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Beautiful build, Lyle. For the little bit of time I've known Harry and seen his work, it looks exactly like he would have done it.
Raul_Perez Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 You know how when you see a certain builder's name on a post that you set a level of expectation before you even click on it to see the model? As usual, you pulled off an awesome build, Lyle, right down to the lettering on the fan belt!! Thanks for sharing,
VW Dave Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 A tremendous tribute and an equally tremendous build, Lyle; I love it, and we all know Harry would have as well. Cool license plates too.
Dave Wood Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Great Build Lyle, I didn't know the man but I'm sure he would Love it! Dave Wood
Bernard Kron Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Lovely sentiment, lovely build. For those of us who will never attempt, let alone achieve, the disciplined artistry of Factory Stock modeling, a replica conversion executed to this standard has to be acknowledged as indeed a tremendous tribute.
RodneyBad Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I'm sure he is as pleased with it as everybody is. An excellent job beautifully well done.
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 This is a truly beautiful build, Lyle. The first MAMA meeting I attended was the one just after he lost his life, and I was genuinely touched by the stories told, the whole affection felt, the sense of loss, and seeing the collection of the model cars that he had built and distributed to his fellow modellers and friends. I feel a great sense of pride having won an award associated with this great man.
von Zipper Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I'm sorry you lost a friend ! That's a cool model you've built in his honor. Zipper
Fletch Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 You know how when you see a certain builder's name on a post that you set a level of expectation before you even click on it to see the model? As usual, you pulled off an awesome build, Lyle, right down to the lettering on the fan belt!! Thanks for sharing, Lyle, I don't think I could have said it any better than Raul. I always know that when I open a topic started by you that I'm going to be impressed and inspired. I have no doubt that Harry would have loved every aspect of this build. God Bless My Friend.
