dino246gt Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 So as per the title, "Who knows how it'll turn out" I really still don't have a vision, I'm just making it up as I go. Looking for front seats, Enzo ones are too racy, Mustang ones are either too small or too tall! It's NOT a muscle car, it really has no distinct identity, but It IS a cruiser, so why not fit some Lincoln Continental seats? Why not indeed. Let's get to it then, call it plan B! 4 1
dino246gt Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 have the rear seat fitted with styrene bits to minimize putty. First coat of primer needs to dry then I can start puttying. I'm liking the idea of Lincoln Continental seats for this cruiser! 5
chris chabre Posted January 7 Posted January 7 yes I know that. I was wondering where the roof cuts were made to chop it 1

dino246gt Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Work on the front seat has begun. First I cut both the front and rear parts into separate seats. Then I filled in where it will show, being separated. Next I added some height so they sit even with the rear seat.
customline Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Nice work on the console, Dennis. The back seat area looks legit, too. Maybe ash trays on the rear armrests? 1

I just thought ash trays on the armrests would further the idea of correctness. It's pretty common on many cars. 1

My car has 5 ashtrays and 2 cigarette lighters in it. 1 in the passenger door armrest, 1 in each rear armrest, 1 between the rear bucket seats with a lighter, and 1 in the dash, there's a lighter in the dash also. 1
dino246gt Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 We don't use ash trays anymore, we have vape holders, LOL I am going to make front armrest and add side panel details, so it's still all in the design stage. 1
dino246gt Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 I made the door panels. The door openers will be foiled so will the 2 lines below the arm rests and those little things above the armrests. There will be red lights at the rear edge of the doors and clear white lights just behind those to illuminate the rear floor. Flocking will be up to the lower strip. It's just rough now but that's how it starts, fine tuning after. Cheers 5
customline Posted January 9 Posted January 9 That's looking super, Dennis. Very legit. Got a color yet? 1
dino246gt Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Starting to make inner fenders, piece by piece! Glued some styrene to 3 sides of each shock tower. Modified the Revell Enzo kit wheel tubs to fit around those shock towers. Then I fitted scraps to fill in areas around the suspension. Let all that dry and start throwing putty! Probably not today though. 7
customline Posted January 12 Posted January 12 This all looks like it's going to work well for you, Dennis. Keep it up! 1
dino246gt Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Getting the inner fenders in shape although there's still fine tuning, it's coming together! 6
BK9300 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Lots of quality scratch building going on here - looks very good, Dennis! 1
SpikeSchumacher Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Wow! You are doing some outstanding work there! 1
slusher Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Amazing attention to detail sir, on the interior and under the hood! 1
customline Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Those inner fenders look like they grew there, Dennis. Super clean work.👍 1
dino246gt Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Having opened up the headlights and cut off the bumper to make a "blade" style, I needed backing for clear lenses and those openings are too deep to just cover the backs. So I took some styrene rod and "machined" it down with a cordless drill and a 220 grit sanding stick until it fit into the headlight openings. Then I created a bit of a concave end to the rod, before slicing one, then crating another concave end, then slices, and so on until I had 4. I sprayed Revell chrome on and once that dries I'll add clear lenses, do a wash on the grille and It should look pretty cool! I've got my "blade" bumper attached too. 5
Maindrian Pace Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Great solution to a common problem, "Where can I find a concave backer for my clear headlights?" 2
Moparman18064 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Top notch scratch work on the interior and engine compartment. Great solution on headlights too! 1
