They ran a wide array of vehicles. Great research! Thanks for all the useful insights and need to have!
tooltime-fan Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I reallywould love to join again and even finish it this time. What do you think: Rather Porsche 911 Carrera RS 1973, or Lamborghini Countach LP 400, 1974?

Anny one of those are great picks! My advice for the last 4 years, take the one you fell more entusiastic about and go for it. If it spirals out of hand as i has for me ocasonly you can always start an other one and make a more simple build.
tooltime-fan Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 That's a good point. Thinking about the long Distance of this race, I might switch to a more comfortable ride: I have also a Lamborghini Espada. Simple curbside kit and no fujimi enthusiast then the other two
oldcarfan Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I'm stumped. I just spent two hours out in the shop pulling kits and putting them back. I kind of want to go with an IROC Porsche look, or a Trans Am style Camaro or Mustang, but little European cars always appeal to me. I have a couple of Renault 5 kits and VW Golf kits. Guess I'll have to come to a decision as the New Year gets ever closer. On another line of thought, can we use a stock appearing wheel with a modern tire?
tim08 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Yes, as long as the tire is treet legal, but the wheels must be or resemble 1975 or earlier period correct

I know that tires are some times hard to find to suit the build. Or at least that’s the case for me. So to not have to find period correct ones helps 🙂 and I feel you, I do the same even in my small stash. 🙂 1
