This started out with the orange AMT full bumper 1970 Camaro kit with the following parts and alternations

wheels from the AMT Double dragster

slicks from the old pro nova

hood scoop was cut from a grumpy’s toy Vega and grafted on to the Camaro hood

slixx decals

testors lacquer

Tunnel ram from grumpy’s toy vega

roll bar made form 0.80 rod

headers made from solder and aluminum tubing.

these Camaro kits easily turn into a rather convincing pro stock, and are really easy to do . Until next time thanks for looking, MikIMG_4251.thumb.jpeg.68f4795c9e5ccbad985f099d751bab9e.jpegIMG_4256.thumb.jpeg.463b5e0ddf78fe716b48af616c3e8a74.jpegIMG_4255.thumb.jpeg.9840c69998bb5fde9199750aee2a6af0.jpegIMG_4252.thumb.jpeg.c86eacbea0261bdd27626dbeee6256b8.jpegIMG_4253.thumb.jpeg.770e54d6e23c248ad2edf00a009abe2c.jpegIMG_4254.thumb.jpeg.33db86cd6a098f605189389c5fcc1fe3.jpegIMG_4257.thumb.jpeg.f5188837c09ef8e05298906bf5b917de.jpegIMG_4258.thumb.jpeg.7fd5fa73ae3623386223da7a3b3272a8.jpeg

Another nice addition to your collection. How many 1/4 mile cars have you built Mike?  As always thanks for the parts break down and you're 100% right about those Camaro kits!

Ed Pink - I think I still have some of those 1/1 decals out in my toolbox from a set of connecting rods.

Again, another fine build.  WOW I could have built a Hot Rod in 1972 for Just $1,000.00

I bought The Old Master from his website, and he autograph it. Most excellent read.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I saw that slixx has the decals available on their website are you building the early version or the latter version?

Your probably have to use another source for the wheels and hood scoop as competition resin no longer has what you need available though the slixx web site . You might want to check out forward_resin on their eBay store for the wheels. As for the grump lump style scoop the MPC Vega grumpy’s toy has one that would look ok and if you need one I have plenty of extras . As for aluminum slots in kit form I noticed that there’s a rather decent set included with the trailer in the AMT CAL. drag team set . Good luck with your project . I find that sometimes gathering all the parts is part of the fun . Is the paint rattle can ? If so who was the seller?

Thank you Mike..Becky sent me email confirming what you said.

The seller was staplesautoparts on Ebay

Hahn Automotive Warehouse Inc.. 1907 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834-2307

Cost was $58.83..$39.95 for the paint $14.40 for shipping and $4.48 shipping

I have 3 Grumpy toy kits..I really want the hood scoop that Butch Leal ran on his 71 Pro Stock Duster..Warren just used the lump at the beginning of 71 because he was running without a scoop and NHRA made him put one on..He made one of out cardboard at the track until he fabbed the lump..If u have a Leal scoop that would be outstanding..If not, I just might make my own.
