stitchdup Posted January 2 Posted January 2 A lot of you should have been able to seethe aurora last night. it was one of the brightest i've seen for a long time. usually it just looks like flashes of white light to the naked eye and you have to be somewhere dark to see it but last night it could be seen in full colour over the street lights. i saw the entire sky blood red at one point then then it went full disco christmas lights. because of how bright it was you should have been able to see it from north of wyoming and possibly even further south. heres some pics my sister took. all were done with no filter unlike most pics you get to see which are heavily filtered and edited and these aren't, this is what i saw behind the street lighting 4
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Wow. Great photos. I've never seen them that good from anywhere in the continental USA, but one night some time back during a period of unusually intense solar activity, they were visible from NW Arizona 2
peteski Posted January 3 Posted January 3 That is beautiful Les! You're lucky to see the Northern Lights. I'm in Massachusetts and was not able to see any of the light show. Even a month or two ago then the Aurora was even more intense I did not see it. Probably about 15 years ago my mother told me that she was out shopping in town (in the same area I live) and she saw a beautiful light show like that all the other passers-by were mesmerized by it. I missed that one too. 1

I missed the one at the end of november due to cloud but it had a meteor shower passing through it and i really wanted to see that. sat up til 5am but the cloud just didn't clear
