Did the Chrysler engine that was issued in the AMT XR-6 show car ever end up in any other kit?  I have the kit and its missing 1/2 of the engine block.

Did the slant six come in any other kits…Duster or Dart maybe. If all Cal needs is the engine block it should be available in something?

That engine (or any part of the XR-6) never resurfaced in any other kit.  AMT tooled slant sixes for the Deora and their (1965-67) Barracuda annual kits.  The Barracuda engines had big axle holes.  The Deora is more easily found, so I'd look at that first.  Next up would be the Lindberg (now AMT) '64 Dodge and Plymouth slant six.

The Deora looks to be my best option, from the instructions and pics it looks close. The Deora has the transmission as part of the block whereas the XR-6 is a separate piece. Texas 3D Custom resin also has a really mice 3D printed one far superior in detail only thing is that it 1/24. may also be an option. Cost is a bout the same either way.

Says out of stock, and the scale isn’t listed, but it looks like they had the engine with the induction system.

I bought a 6cyl Ford engine that was out of stock. They did Email me when it was back in stock. I am deciding on which 1970's Mopar I am going to put one of their Slant 6's in. When it is back in stock. They do respond to Emails so ask them about scale and when back in stock.

Hello Cal,

I have a good condition XR-6 engine missing the intake and exhaust.  PM me you address and I will mail it to you.

Greg, I did a bunch of research when I was building my XR-6, but I don't think I've ever seen those black and white shots before. Interesting to see that they were fooling around with different induction options. For anyone who's interested, I discovered that the master cylinder is from a 1960 Chevy pickup.

Here are a couple more old photos during construction that I dug up.
