Nosferatu Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I remember the old Good Humor ice cream trucks from my childhood and thought they were cool looking. After studying a few pics I started this one. It came from a 1940 Ford delivery that I used the rear delivery body part for another build. I had the cab and the chassis left and it fit the bill perfectly. I extended the cab slightly and scratch built the box from sheet styrene and tubing. Then I removed the cab roof but left the windshield frame. I'm not sure about the color yet. I know the usual color is white but I need it to be different. I think I'm going with the wheels in the last picture. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. All constructive criticism welcome. More to come. Dave 10
stavanzer Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I like it! The wheels will look good. Keep on Truckin'
rattle can man Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Mr. Softee trucks used a blue and white scheme. mostly white with a blue grille and lower body. But as far as I know, they used van-based bodies
Zippi Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Nice idea there Dave. That box came out really nice looking. I'm diggin the ole Good Humor ice cream trucks.
TopherMcGinnis Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I like it! I'm seeing pearl pink with light blue/white flames with sprinkles 😁
Steve H Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Cool build so far David. I’m with Topher above 👆, I was thinking Tamiya light pearl red, which is metallic pink. Will you print some ice cream logo decals for it? That would be cool…
Nosferatu Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Thanks for all your kind comments! I still haven't made up my mind on the color but I like all your suggestions. Dave
