89AKurt Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Need I say more? 🌞🔥 I'm like the co-chair of Water, as in distributing water and ice to the other volunteers out in the sun. My booth is under an awning, and I *have to* grab water bottles out of the ice chest, it's rough. Next year the Board decided to have it in June, because it never rains (which is the only rain we got so far), and always rains in August. 😅 1
rattle can man Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Like so many people, smokey. Just wondering if the smoke particles would affect painting efforts.
bobss396 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 59 F again. A nice break from those 76 degree mornings. I can finally do things outside.
89AKurt Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Just boring clear skies, no hint or tease of "Monsoon" activity. The car club is moving next years show to June, because it always rains in August. 🙄 It was hot after 9 am. 1
89AKurt Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Some of us in the Prescott Antique Auto Club are going to have fun with this, I will help make it the running joke. I've experienced gully washers in August, but absolutely nothing this year. Some members got it changed to June next year, because....... This morning I was shivering while driving with the windows down, it was awesome. Add no traffic, and the cop already went by. Of course wildfires are burning elsewhere than Grand Canyon's North Rim, which is north and a little east of me so the wind blows that away. Now that I see this picture enlarged, Ravens are lifting off the thermals. Then the oven door was opened. Does everyone in your area ignore those white signs? 🤔 2
bobss396 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 64 this morning and I turned my bedroom AC off about 2 am. Yesterday got hot again in the afternoon. I cleared out all the junk on top of my '59 Ford in the garage, charged the battery and fired it up.
89AKurt Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Still boring clear skies with wildfire haze, could break a high temperature record.
espo Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The weather talking head on TV last night said that we would have overcast skies but no rain. So, we get caught in a downpour just long enough to mess up my freshly cleaned car today. Only rained for maybe an hour, but with a little road dust and tire splash from all the other cars as well, you understand my frustration.
bobss396 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 65 F and cloudy. It did rain after 8 pm, although the weather app on my phone said 0% of rain. I drove both old cars around. Glad I put them away to beat the rain.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Low 80s, moderate humidity, no rain forecast but it kinda looks like it's thinking about it, and radar shows sprinklege in Charleston slowly heading this way...in the opposite direction that weather usually travels in. Last week was the coolest early August I can recall here since 1969, and the upcoming week calls for more of the same. But that's OK. I understand it's cooler because it's actually hotter, and I'm delusional.
89AKurt Posted August 10 Posted August 10 Just boring clear skies because the Monsoon flow just isn't happening. Hot. Some sunset action, but the grass is shows we are in exceptional drought. 2
89AKurt Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Tease, just more Nonsoon. Since it was cloudy, thought digging in the dirt that turns to gooey mud would taunt Mother Nature. To start the day, I felt the humidity was higher, could smell it too. Got cloudy, storm cells were forming. Heard thunder in the distance, not good now to have ground strikes. Then this, the remains of Virga. Then that was it. 😡 1 1
bobss396 Posted August 13 Posted August 13 74 at 6 this morning, 93% humidity. Inside i already have sweat running down my back. It may rain later on. If anyone wants me, I'll be in the pool.
Ace-Garageguy Posted Wednesday at 06:38 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:38 PM Still cool for this time of year...86F...and rain's kinda headed this way again, but if the trend the NWS radar is showing continues (system sliding off to the northeast) , we'll only get a little sprinklege here. Let's see if my forecast is more accurate than their 60%-70%-60% chance of precip after 5 PM.

I live in Dewey which is about 15 miles away and a few weeks ago we had the worst monsoon ever. 3" of rain in a hour with 2" of hail. Some of the hail was 1 1/2"! About 100 homes in our development are getting roofs replaced this week. Mine has some pock marks but it held up.....I had it replaced last year. Dave 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted Wednesday at 11:03 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:03 PM (edited) ^^^ Apparently Earth's much prophesied fiery death is upon us finally... Guess I shooda bought that electric car before it was too late. Edited Wednesday at 11:05 PM by Ace-Garageguy 2
rattle can man Posted Wednesday at 11:29 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:29 PM In for another round of high heat indices starting tomorrow. I just want one or two days of low humidity and temps so I can get some painting done. Also could use some rain for the garden and lawn.
bobss396 Posted Thursday at 12:20 PM Posted Thursday at 12:20 PM It rained last evening from 7 to at least 9. Probably after that too since my deck and patio were still wet this morning. 71 right now with 97% humidity. A little cloudy.

Dave Well hi there, I see you recently joined, welcome. Yes you were hogging all the rain! But I got dumped on, just because I drove the convertible to Prescott Valley, and coming back I got soaked! I was more excited than ticked off, need to clean up in the morning. Took this just after I got home. 1
