Bainford Posted March 21 Posted March 21 A Marcos kit would be awesome. Unfortunately, I don't recall ever seeing one in any scale.

Yes, that would be the work of Frank Costin. Below is a bare Marcos chassis. Frank was also the genius behind the Nathan Costin wood chassis. Wood always seemed to me like a heavy chassis material, but in fact they were quite light and very strong. For quite some time now I have been wanting to do a scratch build of a Costin Nathan complete with actual wood chassis, but I know it is a project I would get stuck into and take me ten years to build, to the exclusion of all my other projects. 1
tahiti7 Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 Cool car Trevor! I've never seen that car before. Here is an article about Frank and the 1600: https://silodrome.com/marcos-gt-plywood-chassis/ Before the Marcos 1600,Frank was involved in the development and design of the de Havilland Mosquito airplane, also known as the “Wooden Wonder.”

I had a diecast one (an 1800 GT) as a kid, a Corgi Toy. I don't remember mine having a driver figure though. Hoping that one in 1/24 or 1/25 would be available. Edited March 24 by tahiti7 2

A good high-level article on the work of Frank Costin, and great reference photos of the Marcos.
