This is based on the Revell '65 Chevelle Z-16 kit (soon to be re-released, finally). The body has been left alone except for the use of the custom front and rear pan from the AMT '65 chevelle wagon, open grille surround from Rep and Min of Md(mastered by lyle Willits), grille from the AMT '57 Chevy, scratchbuilt rear fascia, and trim added to the roof to seperate the top color. Colors are Testors Royal Blue Pearl laquer and Tamiya Pearl Light Blue.

The engine is from the Trumpeter '63 Nova kit (beautiful engine, even though the bottom pulley hangs out in the middel of nowhere) It is very well detailed, and goes together in a snap). I added an aircleaner made from a '55 Chevy aircleaner with a parts box velocity stack added to it.

The chassis is all modified from box stock to lower it, and I altered the exhaust to a single from a dual. Wheels and lakes pipes are from the revell '59 Impala custom, and tires are from the AMT '62 Catalina custom.

The interior is all from the kit except for a parts box steering wheel, pinhead shift lever, and MSC gauge faces.

It was a total blast to build, and came together pretty quick. Lately I have developed a deep admiration for the early to mid 60's GM body styles, so you'll be seeing more of these from me. thanks for looking, and follow the link to more pics.

Wow! Before I saw the pictures, I thought this would be somekind of matt black "Rock 'n' Roll car". But this version is looking much better. I like the color on it, and paintjob is really great. Like the six cylinder engine, detailing is nice on it and air cleaner looks good. Personally I don't like those dummy sidepipes, I'd like to see them working. But nice model anyway, there are no big mistakes at all. Stance is also very great. :D
