Jon Haigwood Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Any preferred places to buy large scale kits and aftermarket parts.?
Swamp Dog Posted April 6 Posted April 6 depends on what kind of kits and parts you looking for. you need to put that in your post.. 1
Jon Haigwood Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 My interests are hot Rods, So far I have 1/16 Lindberg Serpent and Bull Horn T and the Revell 34 Phaeton and 34 3 window coupe . I have been watching the 1/8 Golden T on ebay but not sure of the price at $270, nothing to compare it with. I have been buying the engines from Texas 3D customs and tires and wheels from 3D Scale Parts. Are these the only sources of aftermarket parts ? I never build anything out of the box. So far I haven't paid over $40 for a kit
Dave G. Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I've gotten my 1/16 scale kits from Ebay, except the AMT T Bird, that was from HL. But I build those stock. Model A, The T Bird, Vintage classics. So far nothing over $60. The only rod that would interest me is the Big Deuce, as I built one back in 1965. Wouldn't mind that again. Prices get crazy in 1/8 scale it seems.
Bugatti Fan Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Wait long enough and Revell might well re pop those old 1/8th scale Monogram Hot Rod kits now they have the moulds. The Big Deuce was the nicest of the rod kits they made, but that's a personal opinion. 1
