Is it Jim Hall, or Steve Austin?

My guess is that Steve would have a tight squeeze in there.

The grills are in! Made from fine mesh stainless screen, followed by a few dry brushed coats of Vallejo Ivory. Not perfect, but nice when viewed from a foot away. I think things will blend in nicely when it’s on wheels and has decals on it.

Also is a pic of the exhausts, made from 2.2mm electrical crimping furrels.

The chassis is also coming along quite well. Driver is strapped in and painted.

The tubes are also electrical ferrels, just with the flair at the top.

Front wheels are steerable and the suspension is done.

Managed to get a M 0.6 mm bolt and nut through a clevis and mount it to the spoiler.

I think it’s time to invest in the socket for these, my fingers seem to have gotten larger!

Also notice the circle decal, ready for the “66”

Looks like this is going to be a finished project soon.

Got the body hold-down clips and springs on. The start of the decals.

And made some basic headlights behind the clear covers.

The windshield needs some serious polishing and the snaps added, that and the “66” s and that will be about it!

Looking good, Mark - which color did you use (looks like a mix between pure white and racing white from Tamiya)?

Where did you get the decals from? The Robert Bosch decal says "Bosh" ???

Did some sanding with 3200. Got it smooth, now to add the “screws” and then final polishing.

Helmut, I did some extensive research on the color and am convinced it is “off white”.

From there, since Chaparral had close ties with Chevrolet, I picked a popular off white factory color called Ermine White.

The decals?  I totally missed the “Bosh”. They are Starfighter Decals, very nice to work with, but alas with the occasional error.

For what it's worth, MCW sells Ermine White as being the correct color for the Chaparral. I think you nailed it.

It is the perfect color for a Chaparral - IIRC, the Lotus Cortina is also painted in Ermine white.
