"The Cat" looks tasty.

I wonder who gets to make the call on what kits are brought in.  I waited forever for my local Hobby-RobMe* to get that Cougar.  Still hasn't happened so I ended up buying one off eBay.

My Walmart has an endcap with +/- 15 kits, all of which were originally designed over 50 years ago (all but one were AMT).  No 2nd-gen Cougar but the re-released Mach Won kits I paid $35.00 apiece for are selling for $19.99.

As far as I can tell, Walmart in Canada doesn't stock kits at all.

Having said that, about 15 years ago, I happened to be in our local Wal and and end rack had a bunch of Polar Lights Nascar kits. The old cars, circa early 70s. They were only $10 CDN each, so I grabbed 4 of them. A couple of Richard Petty cars, a Buddy Baker Charger, one other one. Cale Yarborough maybe? Ended up trading them away here to someone...for something.

Haven't seen a kit in any Walmart since.

I think it's the managers decision,  and ultimately it's the agreement of walmart corporate with kit manufacturers that determines what kits they stock.

They have them every other week now, and you can buy as many kits as you like rather than just one use of the coupon.

I think I like it better now!

For the life of me I don't understand Round 2s decision making.  They work to get a spot in the toy department in Walmart and put kits and cars that are older than the kids grandparents.  The Walmart here a few years ago got almost all the same kits and they almost all ended up in the $2 clearance bin. We've got a few recent college grads in our department now and they think cars from the 90s are ancient history :D
