shoeman Posted Sunday at 10:15 PM Posted Sunday at 10:15 PM I'm starting to plan a scratch built '60's period small bore sports race car project, and research is pointing towards 13" wheels as most common. I have a set that came with a BMW 2002Ti kit but I'd rather not pirate those. I'm looking for something along the line of mini-lite/Halibrand or even steelies. Of course 13" tires will be a challenge as well. Can anyone steer me towards a source? I'm coming up with zip so far. Thanks, Geoff
stitchdup Posted Monday at 05:35 AM Posted Monday at 05:35 AM The italeri 70s rally car kits have them if you want plastic but there are loads of opt1ons in 3d. spot model will have a sel3ction to choose from but most european stores that sell rims will. a few japanese kits have them too but any from a mi1ni will be too small as the old ones only went up to 12x5.5. I recently printed some 13 alleycats with tyres but thats more 70s style.

Chris V Posted Monday at 08:21 AM Posted Monday at 08:21 AM The German aftermarket company ScaleProduction has a number of 13" wheels and matching tires:
shoeman Posted Monday at 10:01 AM Author Posted Monday at 10:01 AM Thanks for the leads. I'm guessing you both have ordered from them with no issues other than the delivery time? Last time I ordered from overseas (Portugal) the package took a month to arrive.
stitchdup Posted Monday at 11:24 AM Posted Monday at 11:24 AM i've ordered from spot model, scale production, highlight model studio, uscp, diolex and others around the world with no problems. I'm in scotland but the shipping delays usually mean customs haven't got to it yet. if its just a couple sets of wheels it would be faster as it can go in with letters. the bigger the box, the longer the wait
Bainford Posted Monday at 02:41 PM Posted Monday at 02:41 PM (edited) USCP has several 13" wheels, some with tires, and they have them in the Minilite style. Check here: Search - 13 inch As mentioned, Scale Production has several 13" wheels and tires as well, ScaleProduction 1:24/25 - ScaleProduction 1:24/25 Excellent quality and great people to deal with. International shipping takes time. Edited Monday at 05:11 PM by Bainford typo
Ace-Garageguy Posted Monday at 04:43 PM Posted Monday at 04:43 PM Aoshima is also a source for a variety of 13 inchers. 18 hours ago, shoeman said: ...I'm looking for something along the line of mini-lite/Halibrand or even steelies...
Ace-Garageguy Posted Monday at 04:57 PM Posted Monday at 04:57 PM (edited) Here's another old thread, possibly helpful... USCP appears to have multiple offerings as well, 3D printed... https://www.super-hobby.com/products/13-Inch-Revolution-4-Spoke-3D-Printed-For-Aoshima-Fujimi-Tamiya-Hasegawa.html Edited Monday at 04:58 PM by Ace-Garageguy
martsky Posted Monday at 05:08 PM Posted Monday at 05:08 PM I am still trying to finish making a Gunze Bugeye into a replica of my old H Production Bugeye Sprite. I have found that the Carrera Nascar 1/32 slot car tires rescale almost exactly in 1/25 to the 20.0 X 8.0 - 13" slicks I used to use. The Revolution wheels were harder. I contacted Revolution in UK to obtain a good straight-on photo of their product but they declined -- trying to protect intellectual property maybe? This led to my first and hopefully last try at resin casting. Good luck.
martsky Posted Monday at 05:11 PM Posted Monday at 05:11 PM Ah, the UCSP revolutions are exactly what I could have used six years ago.

Spottedlaurel Posted Monday at 07:08 PM Posted Monday at 07:08 PM The Tamiya Lotus Europa Special kit has two sets of wheels which are really nice plus some period-looking tyres. The wheels are Minilites or Dunlop D1 alloys. I have quite a few sets of Japanese accessory wheels and only one of them is 13". For me I just swap around between kits I already, some issues of the Hasegawa Nissan Sunny Truck have steels and Minilites too.
Can-Con Posted Monday at 08:22 PM Posted Monday at 08:22 PM This Revell Camaro as a set of Minilights that are almost exactly 15 mm at the rim lip. That would scale out to slightly under 14inches in 1/25. Might work for a 13 inch wheel in 1/24. As you can see they certainly look a bit too small on most 1/25 cars so maybe ???
martsky Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Les, I guess I tried to say that I have already made resin centers for Revolution wheels and they are already mounted. I am sure the 3-D versions are better but too late to change. The reality is that I mostly used 3 piece modular Revolutions on the HP car. Quite heavy even after I substituted titanium bolts for the steel. I also had one piece aluminum versions that had been sectioned down to our then current maximum 5" width. Nobody accepted the welding or heat treatment but everybody used them for the Runoffs because, you know, lighter! Real racing was fun, especially when I moved up to DSR, but little plastic cars are certainly less costly. M
