Scott Eriksen Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Doing another drag car in between the biggins' ,,,,using the Jo-Han 64 hardtop bashed with a Lindberg 64 sedan ,,,, pics to follow,,,,I've had the decals for awhile now ,,,let's see how this goes 3
R. Thorne Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Have fun! Great Lindberg kits. Errr, the stockers can be addictive. 4
Scott Eriksen Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 (edited) ..............started cleaning up the Jo-Han body,,adapted the Lindberg single headlight grille(cut the bumper off for a better fit) and did a tape up of the Lindberg interior and chassis pan ,,have to massage the door panels and extended the package tray which I figured I would have to do anyway going from sedan to hardtop. All the chrome will be stripped and hit with Revell Chrome Edited June 14 by Scott Eriksen 3
R. Thorne Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Nice work. Curiosity got the better of me. Will you use the “NASCAR” four barrel version? If you’re not familiar with it, Arvid Svendsen’s nice article on HotRod.com has 92 pictures that might help. 1
gtx6970 Posted June 14 Posted June 14 (edited) Be curious to know who is making the decals for this car Edited June 14 by gtx6970

Yeah,,single 4bbl,,,but not really the old bath tub Nascar type manifold,,,I'll have to use a wedge intake or something 1

gtx6970 Posted June 14 Posted June 14 You have my interest These old SS cars are my primary interest ( even though this is not an 'OLD ' SS car) 1
Scott Eriksen Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 Here's the decal sheet from STS.I'm going to make a slight concession with the rear tail light panel ,,,trying to use the Lindberg sedan panel on the Jo-Han hardtop won't fly and since the decal sheet does not have a section or wrap around carry over design to the back I will most likely just paint the light panel with the base color of Pearl White ,chrome the 3 tail light bezels and chrome the bumper 2
Scott Eriksen Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 (edited) At the bench watching the US Army on parade and...........on second thought,,,lol.......I cut the bumper off the tail panel and filled in the 3rd light ,,, initial filling,,,a bit more sanding ,I'll mask off the red tail and glue the panel on and fill the joint at the rear quarter Edited June 15 by Scott Eriksen 3
BK9300 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Fine work on the tail light panel, Scott - was thinking you wouldn’t let that stay unaltered! 1

R. Thorne Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Outstanding! Wish I could stay as motivated as you on my builds. I always get distracted by another build. 2

How about showing some of your builds so we can nitpick yours ,,,lol have a nice day
Shark Posted June 24 Posted June 24 $50.00 a sheet does sound kinda high until you think about it. A friend used to have a resin casting business and produced decals for different cars he did. It would be nothing for him to spend 6 to 8 hours doing the artwork, then you have the cost of the program to do them, special printers and supplies. Nowadays with most models around $40 or so, then paint and detailing items, you tie up a good bit of money in a build. Not to mention the 40 or so hours you spent putting it together. To each his own, but I don't mind paying for quality custom decal work. 1
ron hobby Posted June 24 Posted June 24 scott... not being nitpicky....can' t see paying that kind of money for incorrect decal sheet...i use to make decals on alps printer, when they were around..if i could not do a correct decal sheet, then i would not do them..would tell the customer that.. correct decal sheets is how you keep customers... thanks ron
