I have a question about this kit. Should I build it as a Highboy, or with the Fenders? The color choice is set. Going with Tamiya TS56 over a TS30 base. As always suggestions are appreciated.

You going perfectly shiny, or patina that paint? 🤪  Tire/wheels makes a huge difference, for something else to change.  But the most important thing is to actually finish it, unlike me. 🙄

Not sure. Haven't built a kit like this in like.......never so any suggestions would be appreciated. Kinda like the picture of Milner's Ford shown below. I like the full fenders look but am a bit timid to try it. The paint will be shiny.

it's not the fenders; it's the running boards.

fenders to the body in the rear/ cycle in the front.

half-channel so enough frame shows to give the body some foundation.

wheels are your choice; wouldn't want you to think i'm being manipulative.

The Fenders on that kit can be a bit of work to use, but fit well.

I'd build a Fenderless Car first, and see how the build goes. Then build a Fendered car next.

Oh, and if you do build it fenderless/bumperless, remember to fill in the bumper bracket slots on the front frame horns. Most people forget…

Chris,

Good evening. So question when you say fill in the bumper bracket slots on the front frame you mean putty then sand the spots?

Kind regards,

If you do build it with the fenders, check that the body will sit right down nicely. I found that I had to clip off the locating pins and use the rear fenders themselves for locating the body. The pins may be necessary for a fenderless build?

Yes; The frame horns have two oblong slots to seat the front bumper brackets. It's such a shame when people put tons of effort into building a beautiful fenderless rod and forget to attend to the "voids".
