Bainford Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Very cool project. Very creative. Great to have an example of this stunning car in 3D. I am impressed with the effort so far.
Pico Posted July 31 Author Posted July 31 I think the backs of the seats are an aluminum "pan"; here replicated with Rub'n Buff silver. 2

The files you buy from Humster or sites that sell files used in rendering an image are not usable to make a print and it is necessary to modify them to a STL file type. This requires a CAD (computer aided design) program and knowledge about how to do that. The learning curve is fairly steep but worth it. I suggest the best place to gather that knowledge is to go to Facebook and look up Bill Geary's "Digitalsurgeon". He posts daily about his work and it is first class. He also has a YouTube channel: Plastiksurgeon - YouTube. So get off your rearends and make something wonderful. Thanks so much Pico! Yes.........I get messages all the time about this or that model shown on a site, and I have to caution the person asking that the model as seen is just the rendered file. It cannot be printed as is, as the whole car must be given wall thickness, and/or made manifold from bumper to bumper. That's not an overnight task, and as you know some cars are MUCH TOUGHER than others to make printable (I'm dealing with one now), and like model building, will require lots of patience to see it through. The major upside is the number of vehicles out there is literally endless, because if a file exists of said car, it can be had via printing. One reason I try to encourage others to learn the tech of 3D, and not fret about why X, Y. or Z company won't make this or that as a kit. 1
