oldcarfan Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) Anyone watch Twisted Metal? The show is based on a video game set in a Mad Max/Death Race type of post-apocalyptic world. It stars Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz. I came across an announcement yesterday about a tie-in kit and wondered if anyone has insider info? Hope it makes it to the shelves. The subject seems an unusual choice for a kit, but maybe the show is popular with collectors or something. I'd buy one just to see if it can be converted to a stock van! This is from the CultTVMan page: "The Sweet Tooth Ice Cream Van is a new kit in the works, based on the TV series and video game. This is a reworking of an existing kit with new parts. This is planned for Q2 of 2026. Twisted Metal Ice Cream Van Part Number: AMT-26C" Edit-If it's a reworking of an existing kit, what kit could that be? If AMT has acquired a license for the vehicles in the show, it'll be interesting to see how they proceed. The show features a lot of cars, among them a 1988 IROC Camaro and a bug-eye WRX. The Camaro has been previously put out by AMT in promo and kit versions, so they might be able to do an additional parts tree to convert it. The Subaru might be harder as I think Tamiya is the only one to do a kit. Edited June 25 by oldcarfan 1
The Junkman Posted June 25 Posted June 25 "Twisted Metal" game is the first time my kids found out that I was fallible. Two player mode on a 24" tv screen caused so much movement in such a confined space that I got a 1/2 day bout of motion sickness. ("Damn my eyes") They found there was something they could beat up on Dad with and life was never the same. 1 1 1
Tabbysdaddy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Yea, never saw the show but used to play the games. It's been a while so I don't remember the other cars but do remember the ice cream truck.

I remember hearing the music and that clown laughing and thinking OOOOHH BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH here he comes again. Then getting blown to bits. 1
