R. Thorne Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Geez, starting another one when I already have 2 or 3 started on here. This will be a 327, perhaps 340 hp afb carb version, something like Tony Hernandez’s car. Cleaned up some seam lines on the venerable amt “parts” kit. Put some bmf on the emblems, then decided, what the heck, put the bmf on the windshields and chrome trim, too. After the paint job, they will be rubbed off with alcohol or thinner. No primer, put some Tamiya gold on tonight, will put some clear on tomorrow. 6
TransAmMike Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Good looking 'Vette. I'm pressive wheel stand for an H/Stocker. That bad boy is a beast. Will be a great looking model Ron.

Not going to put a lot of time and money into this one. Put a little Mr. Hobby clear on, looked at the chassis, and decided against trying to remove the exhaust system. Not thrilled with the small block that came in the kit, but it will have to do. Put some orange Tamiya on, then a silver marker on the trans. 1
TransAmMike Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Looks Ike the clear went on nicely. I use the bottled Mr Hobby clear airbrushed. Looking good!

Looking good! Thanks, Mike. Back after a lull. Some engine work and trimmed the frame for some vcgresins Hooker Headers after experimenting (there’s that word again) with some Fusionfirm chrome. The brush came with it as did some clear (didn’t try that). Very impressive stuff. 2

R. Thorne Posted Wednesday at 08:54 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:54 PM Mike, I got it on July 2 from Amazon, but it is not currently available. Wait a few days, but be careful, as they will try to sell you the gold instead of the liquid silver leaf.

meechum68 Posted Thursday at 02:56 AM Posted Thursday at 02:56 AM Looking good! I like the body color, I think I have it in my paint stash, and I do have that same Vette as well... hmmm.
R. Thorne Posted Thursday at 04:41 AM Author Posted Thursday at 04:41 AM (edited) Clipped and sanded some front tires I made and cast with no sidewall markings. Decided to use the wheels and rear tires that come in the kit. Next is rubber black paint. Will post pics tomorrow. Edited Thursday at 03:22 PM by R. Thorne Added pics
Ace-Garageguy Posted Thursday at 03:12 PM Posted Thursday at 03:12 PM (edited) Looks good, especially the paint. Thanks for the heads-up on the liquid chrome. That really is impressive. Edited Thursday at 03:15 PM by Ace-Garageguy
