stitchdup Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I'm pretty sure i recognise that park. Did there used to be a skateboard ramp where the basketball pitch is?

peteski Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Nice! The view seems to be better than at your last place. You're also close to what looks like a busy railroad line. As model railroader and a rail-fan, for me that would be a nice place to live. 1

peteski Posted July 8 Posted July 8 NICE! Looks like a commuter train. I also like the roundabout, and you are also nearby to what I think your Brits call "motorway".Â

bobss396 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I grew up close to a busy train yard. We would hitch rides on slow moving electric train cars, from one end of the yard to another.

stavanzer Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Washing Machine in the Kitchen? Makes sense from a plumbing standpoint, but it odd to American Eyes. We would have a dishwasher in that slot, here. Good Luck on the move. I hope it works well for you. The View is sure nice. 2
Volzfan59 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Congratulations on your successful move. Even though I’ve moved numerous times, including recently, moving just plain sucks. Like @stavanzer mentioned, to American eyes the washing machine in the kitchen does look odd. 1
kacitgirl Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 My hobby corner set up and living room just about where I want it 2

peteski Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Thanks for all the train station photos Kaci. I enjoyed them. That ornate canopy over the platforms looks like it's over 100 years old. They don't build them like that anymore. All your models look nice displayed like that. Yes, living quarters in UK are different than in the States. I also noticed the minimalistic ceiling light fixtures. Is that normal in UK apartments? I also get a chuckle seeing those giant mains plugs used in UK. They are so much smaller in the States. When I was growing up in Poland, the plugs were larger than in USA, but nowhere as large as the ones in UK.

johnyrotten Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Congratulations on the new place, you've got some great views to enjoy. I like the old architecture, much nicer than cookie cutter communities today. 1
