Well I dont do planes all that much,,but it is a nice break from cars ect.  I got this off amazon,,cant believe  they sent it in a brown paper bag!   The box was squished almost flat!    Lucky no damage,, but really?  So I dont order  models from the web anymore.   Anyways,,fun kit to do,,gotta pay attention to the directions on these,,very easy to  assemble stuff backwards!  LOL.  But it turned out cool,,I think they have one of these at   Willow run  display in   Yipsilanti  ,,about 10 miles from where I live.  These planes did  so much for WW2,,quite the workhorse  machine.   Anyways,,enjoy your building!

Nice build, but I'm a bit confused.  Why are there Sidewinder missiles & laser guided bombs on a 1940s aircraft?  Did I miss something somewhere?

LOL,,no you didnt miss anything,,I had the thought of adding some  modern "strike packages"   ,,I had these missiles left over from some  other kits,,and there was so much room  on those huge wings,,I mocked it up  and liked the missiles  on there.  No,,its not "correct"  as it was originally mfg,,but Ive never been concerned about being "correct" ,,I like to experiment sometimes,,thanks for lookin!   S

Nice B-17 Flying Fortress there Scott, but when building these warbirds we must always take a moment to remember the ultimate sacrifice by the pilots and their crews. I met a veteran back in the 80s who was blind, and after getting to know him he told me his story. As a bombardier in an Avro Lancaster with the RAAF he was blinded by a search light whilst aiming  his bomb sight. Consequently, on return to base he was hospitalised. After a full recovery he was reassigned to his previous job but on a different bomber, his previous crew were lost (kia). On his first mission back he was hit by shrapnel from heavy flak which is why he was permanently blinded. I'll never forget the sacrifice that man, and all who served, made for our freedom and way of life.

Just curious as to what scale this is and what year the kit was manufactured.
