I have been noticing a lot of builds with distributors and larger spark plug wires. Where are you guys getting them from?

Gofer Racing sells some.

the distributors are available from any number of sources [link below].

the "... larger spark plug wires." are not desirable. anything larger than .020" are out of scale.

remember: wire gauge size is the wire; not the diameter of the wire with insulation. 

measure your intended product with either a drill gauge plate or a dial caliper [digital if you must!]

If you like "doing it yourself" (and saving money), RON COON RESINS  (roncoon,com) provides a couple different distributors, and some different magnetos at a VERY reasonable price, predrilled distributors are 75 cents each, predrilled mags are 69 cents each.  Ignition wire is $5 for 10 feet, and available in yellow, red, blue, black, etc.  An affordable alternative that's easy to work with, and really good looking stuff.....   Hope that helps.....

The only ones I use come from MAD  Distributors - Morgan Automotive Detail

 

I have several of them on hand right now 

 

They actually look like a dist cap as opposed to most just look like an aluminum tube with wires hanging out of it ( My opinion )

I agree with Bill, the ones from Morgan are really top notch. They have a ton of color options, your bound to find what your looking for

M.A.D. has excellent product, and for about half the price of the Gofer Racing article from Amazon that “sidcharles” posted above.

MAD, is my “go to” distributor on my Ford and Mopar builds. I have some old Pro Tech distributors that were on a close out sale, that I’ll use on GM engines that are hidden by the air cleaner. They have all the wires coming out of the center of them, as compared to the MAD having them around the perimeter of the cap.

I like Kris' distributors as well, especially the V8 HEI for day 2 (or 4) GM builds. I just wish they were available with vacuum advance (all of them not just the HEI)
