here is my KITT as a  4th gen firebird i built a couple years ago using a amt/ertl 93 firebird snap kit 
there is a post on it somewere in this model car section of the forum

that is a 3rd gen firebird 82-92  the last gen of firebirds and trans ams was the 4th gen 93-02

when the main body style changes it followed the camaro so first gen 67-69 second gen 70-81 third gen 82-92 and forth gen 93-02 then both cars ended and then the fifth gen camaro returned from 2010-2014 and pontiac had been shut down in 09 a year before the fifth gen came out
