Badge73 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Getting her rust undercoat and initial base coat using color modulation. Looks likes she's gotten into some minor damage. More to come... 14
Glassparman Posted October 3 Posted October 3 I like where you are going with this. I recently picked up and old electric pencil. I thought I would try it gently on some plastic to see how it would work to make it look like rust cancer. 1
Badge73 Posted October 14 Author Posted October 14 WIP: Update...Layers of brushed on chipping in the works as well as the scratch built roof rack. 2
BK9300 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Your detail painting of the roll and roof rack is very realistic - excellent work! Really like all the wear and tear you're adding to the body as well. 2

Badge73 Posted October 15 Author Posted October 15 Almost finished with the interior, just need to add the details/accessories...I am removing the drivers seat spring and just having exposed foam. 1
OldNYJim Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Your painting skills are awesome - the roll especially caught my eye. Have you painted a lot of armor?
BERT100 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Great job, enjoying how you are puting the project together.

I've spent a majority of time studying military miniature painting and anything I can weather, I will. 1
Badge73 Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 UPDATE: - Folded up the rear passenger seat and added its metal leg. - Added three milk crates, one filled with a spare battery and tool bag while the other two crates have books/magazines. - Snuck in the ol' Grays Sports Almanac (if you know, you know). - Lastly, topped off the rear seat with a folded and strapped old military sleeping bag. 2

Badge73 Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 Added a custom spare tire rack to the trunk. Built with wire tubing and bent paper clips. 3

I am still playing around with it, I am not sure if someone will question why the tire is not being held down, especially with the hub cap on it. Maybe I should remove the hub cap and fabricate the tire lock down rod that comes up through the center of the rim and holds the tire in place? Thoughts?
Badge73 Posted Wednesday at 06:11 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 06:11 PM Brought Donna nearly to 100% completion. Had a few minutes to hook up the camera and take a few shots, hopefully will have more soon. There are still a few details I would like to add to her, so stay tuned. Enjoy. 3

I was only wondering exactly how it was being held down. And to be Honest, I was too busy looking at everything else it didn't matter. But, If you where to do what you discribed, remove the hub cap and build the jack base, hold down rod and wing nut, that would be awsome. It will just be Iceing on the cake. Outstanding detail work Zackary! Even had to show it too my wife. She couldn't stop looking at it. She say's it's amazing. 1
