I did this one just for fun. Not overly detailed because I didn't want to spend a lot of time on it. I did add plug wires, heater hoses and RWL tires. Essentially o.o.b..

I did wind up painting it twice. The first paint was an old can of Testor's enamel. After two weeks it was not drying so I stripped it. The second paint was automotive lacquer. It went on perfectly !

I did not try to replicate a vinyl top. The idea was to build as if a two tone paint scheme was ordered from the factory ( you could actually order cars that way in 1971).IMG_21142.jpeg.3a6dd42524e02d50113f43606ef7a3cd.jpegIMG_2118.jpeg.f0a30235b0b9e2681b1d5fa55ce22596.jpegIMG_2116.jpeg.2708fe399cdca448b0ed9aae77dc8599.jpegIMG_2117.jpeg.8f8e08ba5e50c54b2f26007a31eb4a68.jpegIMG_2124.jpeg.43e88bac51f66c2ce7ecb9f6d297b4c5.jpegIMG_2126.jpeg.72bef9d509260cc3b81b8d4008f582f3.jpegIMG_2123.jpeg.baa9aa789787da89f7f4c7f20373e30c.jpegIMG_2122.jpeg.c9157c4ff45b8c1015a12c2b7d35d0fb.jpeg

I must comment that the kit supplied decals were terrific. No problems whatsoever. It's a fun kit. Highly recommended.

Thank you all!

I always wanted to paint a car in Sublime or Lime light but never found the right subject. I don't really like green 😀

I really like this color now. Too bad that the enamel would not dry.  The Automotive lacquer worked really well . I'm thinking about doing a '70 Super Bee in this shade with white stripes!

Your Demon looks really good. I was on the fence about buying this kit but it sounds like a winner. I was wondering what brand of automotive lacquer you used?

This is probably not the answer that you were looking for but...... The automotive paint that I use is custom made for me by an automotive paint shop. I give him the PPG code from online paint charts and he mixes up a batch and puts it in an aerosol can. Cost is around $30 per can but you can easily do 3 cars with 1 can. Maybe you have a local body shop supply store that can do the same thing for you?

Great looking paint color and finish. Like the factory style stripping and the rally wheels.
