Classic Plastic 56 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Hey all! A few years back when many companies release Chevy Nova Kits, I decided to replicate my first car. I purchased a "Jimmy Flintstone" resin body and rally strip decals online. At the time AMT came out with the 72 Chevy Nova SS (Old Pro). This was used as the donor kit. Although my car was not a 72 or an SS it was close enough for my project. My Nova was a 1971, 350 ,2 barrel, 3-speed, single exhaust. In 1972 gas was about 36 cents per gallon. By 1973 it jumped to 55 cents per gallon. At that point a lot of muscle cars went bye-bye. I wish I still had my first car. Hey gang, what was your first car? Comments welcome. bh1701 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Your Nova looks great! My first car was this 66 Mustang! And, of course, I built a model of it (along with a model of a 75 Mustang II I owned)! 4
Classic Plastic 56 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Bart-Nice Mustang! Great job on the model! I'll bet you wish you still had that car. 1
exnyman Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Looking good! My first car was a 68 Impala Convertible which I’ve now owned for 50 years. My second was a 68 Nova SS which I’ve owned for 48 years. 1
Jim B Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago @Classic Plastic 56 Very nice-looking Nova. Well done @bh1701 Nice pair of Mustangs. Both of you did a great job replicating your first cars. I've tried to locate a model of my first car (1981 Pontiac Sunbird) to no avail.
