TooOld Posted yesterday at 01:30 PM Posted yesterday at 01:30 PM Some of you may have seen this one before . Built in 2013 it's a replica of an El Camino I owned many years ago , it had a 283 / 4 speed and was painted Roman Red with the Impala trim . In 2019 I redid it adding the poseable steering and the correct wheels and tires which I couldn't find in 2013 . It's built using a Revell '60 Impala with the roof and bed from the AMT '59 El Camino grafted on . I had to lengthen the bed about 1/4 " to line everything up , and modified the tailgate and rear bumper . I used the Revell chassis and modified it to show the bed floor and added a correct gas tank . The headers and exhaust were made from aluminum rod . The engine and tranny are from the revel '63 Impala . With the '60 Station wagon being reissued soon I'm planning another El Camino project and maybe a Sedan Delivery too . Thanks for lookin' ! And here's the original WIP thread from 2013 . . . 14

Bainford Posted yesterday at 07:49 PM Posted yesterday at 07:49 PM Very cool El Camino, Bob. Nice and clean, and nicely sorted under the hood, too. It's a sweet looking machine. The 1:1 must have been a fun ride.
XYHARRY Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago That looks great, the extra details in the engine compartment and under carriage are a nice touch. Colour looks good with the Cragars. Well done Bob.

dphipps Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Awesome detail. That bit of orange visible on the bottom of the filter element is a really clever touch!
Ragtop Man Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Madonn a mia! This, kids, is MODELING. Wow - the craftsmanship and ingenuity to do this to the '60 is off the scale. Absolute grabber from the first picture, congrats on a great job.
Cosmic D Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago That is some sweet kit bashing - as Ragtop Man said above - this is what model building is about. First class work.
dragstk Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago An impressive level of detail, on a very clean build. Nice job, Bob
