People don’t want to think anymore. They just pass along someone else’s info. We need to stop! But whoever has the most “likes” wins. And AI is just getting started. Students of legacy and social media have surely noticed, probably even analyzed in depth, how willingly a large part of the population swallow whole whatever erroneous gibberish they're told is 'fact', and the advent of AI and increasingly real-looking 'deep fakes' makes it easy for the tech-savvy crooks among us to generate income streams based entirely on made-up lies at worst, phoned-in narration of 'documentaries' with scrambled and often wrong information at best. I doubt the majority of people producing the blatantly false "AI slop" the internet is awash in think of themselves as "crooks" though, as that would take a level of introspection and self-awareness that's all but disappeared. AI has some incredibly positive uses too, obviously, but as is always the case, if there's a way to misuse something for profit at very little risk... I deleted my post because I didn’t want it to sound like YOU were the person I was referring to. I was referring to the people all over the internet posting inaccuracies pertaining to stories they read. Seems like they get off on this behavior. 3

Dragline Posted Friday at 09:44 PM Posted Friday at 09:44 PM AI used for nefarious means is in its infancy. It will get worse long before it gets better. I believe very little, so for me it's simply not an issue. For others? Be on your guard and assume it's a scam before you believe anything. Dig deeper if you want absolute confirmation. Caveat Emptor applies here as well. 3 1
89AKurt Posted Tuesday at 05:14 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:14 PM Isn't some "bitcoin" based on A.I. to build a synthetic currency? I never asked any of those 'bitcoin" billionaires. I'll go out on a limb, and say Zuck with his MeatA (sic) virtue world, topped off with video gaming, has not been useful for society. Just himself. Speaking of self, women (and I'm sure men) use A.I. to make their picture look fabulous, then you meet in person, what do you do? 😳 Yes I'm becoming a grouchy old man, I still remember having to watch the film 'Future Shock' in High School, portraying a Utopia where computers would make our lives so much easier, would have to work only three days a week, set in what looked like a park and not a crowded city, none of which came true. Oh wait, one exception, IMO not a positive sign portending today's insanity. Also sick of nature pictures where I know it's obviously fake, and so many fake accounts saying "I've been there", in what side of the portal? And the fake car pictures are getting really annoying. 😅 1
