Swamp Dog Posted Monday at 09:42 PM Posted Monday at 09:42 PM (edited) The Mack is finished, well i forgot to add the CB Antenna's that were painted and ready to put on.. where should i start... i know this AMT-ERTL (black & yellow box art) was one of the worst kits i ever built.. a lot of the parts never did lined up correct.. it probably took me 20 hrs of scraping, grinding ( Enjection Points) & sanding seam lines, then i started filling all the seams and Enjection Points.. i think the hood was the worst.. the kit was missing parts anyway but with the help of my good friend Walter Bertrand i got another parts kit from him.. first thing i did was add 2 inches to the frame.. tires, rims, catwalk, & 5th wheel set up i bought the file's off Cults & Andy Lesiak printed them.. Decals were custom made by STS.. Stacks & bumper guides are made by Ryan Mlynek.. the Mack Dog & mirrors came from Dave (AITM).. the hood turn signals, marker lights & battery box latches are from CTM.. visor & fender flares are from Auslowe .. mud flaps are real rubber.. i kept the kit motor in this build.. oversize load sign & overhead lightbars came from eBay.. cab lights and horns came off a snap Revell truck.. the fender set up is scratch built after i went thru 4 other choice for the truck.. LOL. i used the same years back on another heavy haul from pictures off the net.. tool boxes are from Keystone & Jay Walker at 3D Concepts Ltd.. headache rack, winch & snatch blocks are also from Jay Walker at 3D Concepts Ltd.. chain is from Walmart, you can find it in the craft section, looks like the real stuff.. hooks are from Jamie Rahmoeller.. tail lights are from Plaskit Resin Resin.. mudflap weight & slam locks are from KFS.. Louisiana DOTD License plate & Inspection Sticker was print by Graphics on Demand by Christie.. colors are Black Metallic Stainless & Popsicle Orange.. i still need to do more weathering, and find something to look like grease on the 5th wheel.. any suggestions beside real grease ? 89AKurt Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago That's freaking awesome! 🏆 Begs for more weathering. I have used products for water, and added color. Try white Elmers glue, add acrylic black and see how it dries, won't attract dust like real grease (how do I know that LOL). 2
grodudulle77 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Nice work on details, this Mack looks great !!👍😀 2
Biggu Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Sounds like you had to beat that one into submission, but your efforts well paid off, David. Very impressive, excellent details. Sharp paint job too. I like this one. ! Take a bow. 1
