espo Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Great way to lower the suspension setup. Will you have to also raise the drive shaft tunnel also or will the drive shaft clear as is?

Yes sir, I’ve done just enough kit bashing that USUALLY there is no surprises, but every once in a while something sneaks up on you. 8 hours ago, Misha said: Hi Steve, Great description of your chassis modifications as it offers a new perspective on how low will it go! The photos and captions describe your method perfectly, giving me all sorts of ideas 💡. Cheers Misha Thanks Misha, I try not to get too descriptive, as it might be a bit boring, but I always am open to any questions anyone has. 1

I was fairly certain that I would have to raise the tunnel, and had a plan for just that. In my initial mock up, everything fit! I was pleasantly surprised. I will need to do a “tight” mock up to confirm this, but I think I dodged that particular issue.
Steve H Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago I had a fairly productive day at my desk today. Needed to adjust the rear track width, but wanted to use the kit axle. I will let the photos do the talking… Next up was some interior work. Will be removing the bow tie and “Chevrolet” from the rear tin work. For the door cards, I removed 0.5 mm from the bottom, and about 1.5mm from the top. This “channels” the body over the frame about 1.5”. While at it, I removed the window cranks, I’ll add power switches later. The dash that I received from “the Beaumont guru” needed to be narrowed about 3mm to fit. Haven’t decided on the front seats yet, but the Revell ones are in the running. Oh… the baby seat is from Iceman. The “perch” for the baby seat was scratch built, and you can see the bow tie etc. has been removed. The firewall will get 1.5mm removed as the tape indicates. As always, thanks for having a look. Questions and comments are welcome Cheers, Steve 2
Bills72sj Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I like your mods to the Chassis. I have a few of these kits as donors for future ProStreet projects of other models. A '66 GTO in particular is actually in the queue.
