Chillyb1 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 It is an interesting conversion. But I disagree: ALL 2CVs are cool!
Zoom Zoom Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 All 2CVs are cool. Even the old ratty ones. But this one is awesome
Foxer Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 That IS a cool looking 2CV, but I have to go with the flow that ALL 2CV's ROCK!!! .. what a sick crew here. ehhehe
Nick F40 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I mean as much as I love Ferrari, it just lost it's original charachter and why it was what it was, yeah 2CVs are awsome.

If the F355's body was trashed, it's worth very little except as a parts car (you'd be better off just buying another one used vs. paying a fortune to repair it). I seriously doubt it was a mint condition car, and F355's aren't that rare or collectible...though if this were a 348-based conversion it would be just as cool and to me a 348 is a very expendable Ferrari.
Nick F40 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 sorry Bob, I meant it took away the opriginal character of the 2CV! The 348 was better though, more was better about it. The 355's are the inexpensive, not too valuable and not as cool as some others. I'd take a 348

I'd take a 348 You're definitely in the minority on the 348 vs. 355 debate. 348's are too "Pontiac" and not nearly enough "Ferrari". Many consider the F355 the last really attractive Ferrari. 348's, 328's, Mondials, 308 GT4's are all kind of the bottom-feeder Ferraris. A lot of times when a car has a "major refresh" it loses it's focus and isn't as good. But when Ferrari updated the 348 to F355, they improved it a lot!
Chuck Most Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 All 2CVs are cool. Even the old ratty ones. But this one is awesome This one IS awesome. A 2CV gasser would have been cool as well. I'm just happy that some rich boy's Ferarri had to die to create it!
fordsixty Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) this is my idea of a cool duck ( 2CV ). nurburgring 1997. or these ducks battling at Spa. ducks are cool! Edited May 29, 2009 by fordsixty
Nick F40 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 ahh DUCKS, thank you! I knew there was a nickname for them but couldn't think of it. Now those are my kinds of 2CV's
Modelmartin Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Did someone say 2CV gasser? This is an altered but it's close enough! Here are some cool 2CV pics from the 'net. One needs a proper pacecar for a Duck race! And just to prove that there is always something weirder and cooler coming down the road, I present the Iso Isetta Mille Miglia entry!
Harry P. Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Just one question: What does Janis Joplin's song "Cry Baby" have to do with this???
Foxer Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Just one question: What does Janis Joplin's song "Cry Baby" have to do with this??? hmmmm ... It doesn't look like a Mercedes to me .... but, maybe cause Lloyd Cole And The Commotions and their song "2cv" are on some of same play lists as Janis? Are we dating ourselves Harry?
Harry P. Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Are we dating ourselves Harry? Maybe! I can just imagine some of the younger guys here thinking, Janis WHO????
Harry P. Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Oh yeah. She could really belt 'em out. Like so many others of the era, she died way too young.
LVZ2881 Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Janis definitely had a voice.... whether it was a good one was a matter of opinion...
Foxer Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I loved Janis from her Big Brother days. She could belt out a song to her own tune. No, she didn't have an operatic voice, but it had feeling ... along with other things. In a concert I saw her she put away a fifth sitting on the piano... her voice had many influences.
Modelmartin Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Just one question: What does Janis Joplin's song "Cry Baby" have to do with this??? So tell me - just what does it have to do with it?? I looked up the lyrics and can't make the conceptual leap required. Please inform.
Nick F40 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 The one thing is, she's iconic. See most young ones don't know what good music actually is or what real lyrics should sound right, that's why i'm different!

See most young ones don't know what good music actually is or what real lyrics should sound right, that's why i'm different! There is good music and bad music in every generation. There are some great young talents out there today and some of the singers and musicians of many generations ago were awesome. I think with time we only remember the good ones and forget the bad which sort of distorts our perspectives. I think they call it nostalgia. Anyway in trying to figure out what Harry was talking about I came across Janis' 356. Very cool! Definitely better than the Beatles Rolls Royce.
Harry P. Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Anyway in trying to figure out what Harry was talking about I came across Janis' 356. In the original post, if you click on the link, you come to a page where there's a video of the Citroen being built. The "soundtrack" on the video is "Cry Baby" by Janis Joplin. So since that song has absolutely nothing to do with the car in the video, I asked... what's the connection???

I did not click on the video. I would guess they thought the Ferrari enthusiasts would cry, baby, cry over one of theirs being mated with a lowly duck! Anyway, it seems that half of the vids on youtube come with some sort of sound track dubbed on. Most of it is this weird Euro-pop sounding stuff. It's really annoying.
