Mike 1017 Posted yesterday at 03:41 PM Posted yesterday at 03:41 PM The 8 remaining survivors of this cowardly act were too old or too sick to attend this year's Remembrance Ceremony. So,So,Sad. My Dad Abe, Uncle George, Uncle Tom, Uncle Frank, Uncle Mugar and Father -in-law Pete. Uncle Mugar also fought in Korea. Fought bravely for our and the worlds freedom. They were sons of the brave immigrants who came to America for better lives for them and their descendants. Cousin Dominic Simonelli still serves proudly in the USMC. All of the WW2 Veterans deserve to be called The Greatest Generation Ever. Respectfully Baby Boomer Mike 7
Ace-Garageguy Posted yesterday at 05:16 PM Posted yesterday at 05:16 PM Kinda sad half of the last two generations don't even know which countries were on each side, and/or subscribe to some scrambled revisionist gibberish version of history. 1
Volzfan59 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago My pops served in WW2. The old Army Air Corps. Never really spoke much about it. @Mike 1017, they were the greatest generation. Side note, I got my walking papers from the Army 45 years ago today.
stavanzer Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Mike, for over half the Country, WW2 barely exists... Which is sad, but the way of the world now. I'd hazard a guess, that 50-75% of every one under the age of 40, doesn't even know what Pearl Harbor was. 1
