Mattilacken Posted Thursday at 08:22 AM Posted Thursday at 08:22 AM I have wanted to build a Monster Truck for a good while. And to me the one I would like to build is the Bigfoot kit from 1990´s, the first stadium truck #10. Latley they have been using the 1975 F250 truck body which just look the part and it reminded me of when I fist saw these, in the old Police Academy movies. And I was hooked, I still love monster trucks, but I have never seen a real one.. ned to get that sorted at some point, I remember as a kid that a "monster truck show" was coming to a close by town so we went. But I was so disappointed when I saw the trucks, they where just a bitt hooped up standard trucks with massive boddy lifts and big suspension lifts.. It was almost as my dads Suburban but worse since they were in such a bad shape! So i do love the engineering part of it as well, it's a super complicated frame with a 1500hp engine that you strap your self in to! What's not to like about it! The build started out as the 1990´s #10 that I modified the frame on to look more like the later #15-#20 trucks. So extra bracing went in to the chassis and re designed so the rear shocks sits where they should on the later ones and not as they did on "10 when it was built. Engine is replaced with a Brodix Bigblock 572cui with brodix heads and a custom blown intake with EFI and a printed BDS supercharger including pulleys and belt. Only the transmission is "stock" even the engine mounting plates were replaced. And I did my own changes, a filter was aded and the connection to the buggcatcher was done with "tack it" CA and baking soda worked like a charm. Custom shocks out of brass tubes and they are still adjustable thanks to "tack it" inside of them and the linkage being hinged. Bunch more done but if you are interested to se more look in the build thread. Here is my inspiration, the 2025 version with the anniversary livery (yes this is #21 or something) My Boyhood inspiration: 8
Zippi Posted Thursday at 12:52 PM Posted Thursday at 12:52 PM Wowser Anton. That's one Bad looking Monster truck. I've built a couple that I altered. Nicely done, my hats off to you man. 1
espo Posted Thursday at 06:36 PM Posted Thursday at 06:36 PM Definitely captured the look of the Big Foot. With the body removed you can see all the attention to very detail. Should you ever get to go to one of their shows remember to bring ear protection, especially if it is indoors. 1
