I am in the process of building a '32 Ford coupe and would like to try my hand at chopping the top.  I am sure that this subject has been discussed here before but I tried searching the forum for information and came up empty - or I overlooked something.  Can someone direct me to a tutorial or article on the subject?  Or just give me some helpful advise on how to proceed.

TIA

That about covers everything. The only thing I did different the second time I chopped one was to cut the entire A-pillar out and then shorten it to re-install.

I did mine the hard way. I cut out the roof insert first thing. Marked my cuts and wound up with 5 pieces. I removed the B pillar as a T section, into the side windows, split the front into 2 parts.

I had to add filler strips at almost every cut. But it came out well.

I was supposed to do the chop and lend it to Norm Veber to make a master. This was 15 years ago and I hope Norm gave up waiting.

Thanks to everyone that replied to my post.  You guys are the best!  That is exactly the info that I was needing.

Now where did I place that razor saw?

Thanks again,

I tried KiT Karson stair step method. It gave a much better and stronger result than any other method I've tried. I did it with a sedan and the result was first class.
