So ... if in 1980 they had the Chrysler 300Z what was the '81 Model ? I also contacted Moebius and was just told "yes , it's true" when I queried about the Lonestar and it being 1/25th to which I will get a dozen (since they generally come six to a box) . The 300M came out in '99, stayed that through '04, then the 300C came out for '05. (there was a 300 version of the Cordoba in '79 also). Edited October 30, 2009 by Rob Hall
MrObsessive Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 IIRC, didn't they skip the letter "I" in 1963 so it wouldn't be confused with the Roman numeral "I"? I think they went from 300H in 1962 to 300J for '63...........I could be wrong though...........
MrObsessive Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Also, if I can remember my Chrysler 300 history correctly, one of the reasons the 300's out of the late '50's/early '60's go for such big bucks is that they were essentially a hand built car. Especially in the interior area. It's been said the 1961 300G was the last of the "hand builts" so the '62's were more into the mainstream thus not commanding near as high a price on the collector market as the earlier 300's. Educate me Mopar guys!

MrObsessive Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Aahhh........didn't see that Bob! I knew I read that somewhere but it wasn't from Wikipedia. I'll probably buy the '55 300 only because it is a unique '50's subject..........I'd still want someone to do a proper '61 though since they were the last of the "finny" ones!
Chuck Most Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I put the Wiki page in my previous reply but people are ignoring it Chrysler 300 Letter Series - Answers, information Not me! Glad you did it! About all I knew of the letter series Chryslers was that the later Three Hundred (spelled out) models were an entirely different animal altogether. They were your grandma's luxo-barge. In other words, I knew nothing of the letter series!

Collectible Automobile did a good article on the letter series years ago also. Too bad Moiebus wants to do a '55 instead of a '56...the '56 was the better looking of those 2 years, IMHO..the taillights and rear bumper were nicely integrated, the '55 lights just looked tacked on. That was a good article. Agreed on styling issues between the two. If Moebius plays their cards right, they could offer both years...start w/the '55, update to a '56...aside from the rear fenders/taillights/bumper, the cars are nearly identical.

Better yet, if the Lonestar sells well, and we ask nicely, perhaps Moebius will bless us with a CXT or first-gen Scout kit! Not holding my breath or anything, but a boy can dream, can't he? And if the Chrysler and Hudson do well, could a Bullet-Nose Studebaker be too far off?
crispy Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 IF these do well for them and they continue to offer things we've not had, I think it would be a perfect opportunity for them to offer a first generation Ford Bronco. A kit that has been ignored far too long. Many iterations of the kit could come about too making the tool pay for itself in more ways than one. Chris
